Fretless Basses Empty
PostSubject: Fretless Basses   Fretless Basses EmptySat Oct 17, 2009 10:08 am

So yesterday I played a really nice lined custom fretless jazz copy at this used guitar store. I really want a fretless now...

What do you guys think of fretless basses?

They're fun. It's crazy how differently you can play on them and how much you can change your technique to suit the instrument.

I love them. I used to have a home-spun fretless, and it was a lot of fun to play. And I think it's a good idea for bass players to at least try fretless. There are things you can do on one that aren't quite the same on a fretted.

One day I'll grab me a new one.

i like them.

i played a real cool hollowbody fretless bass with tapewound strings. i have never seen another one since and i've never heard anything that sounded as good. i'll look around to figure out what it was.

if i ever buy a fretless, i'll hafta find one of these.

Love them! bounce

I have two with flats(a traben, and a jazz), and one with rounds(a p).

Just a completly different vibe, and so much fun!

Hah, my basses sans frets growl plenty, probably more than fretted, depending on setup.

Oh, the white P bass with the gold hardware is pretty nice.
