Linda and I will be heading down to California for Christmas, and we'll be gone from the 22nd until the 30th. I don't know how much internet access I'll have in that time, so we want to wish Everyone here a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year.
Here's to a rockin' 2011!

rp's are pretty common. In a way I'm glad it fell thru and I got my money back because I was able to use that money to help pay for the lefty kramer forum that unexpectedly came up for sale.

Happy new year.
Been busy this year so far. I've made a commitment to myself to flip 10 - 12 refurbs this year. Almost done the first one. I been trolling CL and ebay for beat up cheap basses worth fixing. Got a crappy bass? I might give you some cash for it.

Shoot, MadMike. I actually do have a project bass lying here, but it's anything but crappy. It's one that Andy started to build, but never completed, so he gave it to me. It's a full-length four-string, bolt-on 19-fret neck, all maple, brass nut, two pairs of identical but different brands of Gotoh tuners set two per side. The bass was never painted, and it was routed for a P/J set of pickups, but the one's Andy had were 3/4 sized, so standard P/J's won't fit without a little more routing. The electronics cavity is roomy enough for an active board, and Andy also cut out some black plastic to cover it. The holes for the strap pins are over-sized, so they would need larger screws. He gave me a hack-up bridge from an Ibanez or something or another, but one of the bridge pieces was missing, so he machined one from aluminum.
I do think about doing something with it, but I am so loving my fiver that I don't know if I will ever use a four-string again.

Sure thing!
The single neck bolt has since been replaced with a standard plate. Given Andy's superior luthier skills, the neck joint is extremely tight, although he told me this bass was simply a quick experiment he cranked out in only a couple of days. The frets have minimal wear on them, and are still very playable.
Honestly, I have no clue how much it would be worth to sell it. So if you do want it, what's your offer?

Thanks, Bro. The nut is actually brass, though.
Let me chew on it a bit. Since it was a gift from Andy, I need to be OK with $100 for it. But it's a good offer, and I'll let you know soon.
