thanks FOLKS, you made my morning
p.s. this jam was such a Yngwie ripoff, it was easy to figure out. The TomJones jam I did right before this one took most of last night's time allotment. remember, for me speed on the fingers is never the "I can't do it" factor.... you all should know by now this is what I LIKE to do, and as I tell anyone who asks ---- no beating up on the strings, just a light touch and a lot of help from the amp, so no, I have gone beyond the "oh hell my finger hurt" stage long ago..... ( ECONOMY OF MOTION )
p.s. AND a bass that has the strings almost touching the fretboard always helps.
In my 20's I always played this stuff for a couple hours and run all over the stage, now a days I would still do it, minus the running all over the place. ( BEING OLD DOES TAKE IT'S TOLL )

Awesome jam, Mike! I love it.
I saw Edguy the other night...a guy I know said that Stratovarius is coming to Seattle.
I really should set up my basses with lower action. I do hit pretty hard with both of my hands.

I made a frankenbass...here's my lefty with a righty neck on it so the strings are inverted but the body orientation is correct. I'll record a video with it soon. it makes me laugh cause from a distance when you cant see the strings it looks like a lefty with a reverse neck, soooo odd looking...
if your asking why I just didnt flip the nut on the lefty neck?...naw, this way I can put it back the way it was in 5 minutes, the benefit of parts basses

Amimbari, I'm going to be frank. SICK AXE.
It's a bit of a mind game. Kind of an optical illusion. At first glance, it looks like a right handed bass...but wait! What?
That would look awesome with a 1B maple neck.

lol I already thought of that, but I didn't want to pull the neck off my 1b just yet. This neck is the one with the chip on the fretboard, and I had to sand the heel side a little to get it to fit in the pocket, but it ROCKS and NOW I did it !!!
what did I do? I opened up the "I got to find more lefty Charvels" attitude ( ya right...I'll never find another one )
optical illusion? perhaps...I just look at it as a fricken weird looking unit...
I'M gonna use it in a video or 2 this week, as soon as I figure out where the nasty buzz is coming from. ( I have to touch the knobs/strings/bridge for the buzz to go away, but again, I have pups ands pots galore so I'll get her 100% and use the crap out of it.
lefty bass setup for inverted...can you say JimHaslep/JeffSchmidt?

Sounds like you've got a grounding problem there.

Sounds like it might be the lug that grounds everything to the shielding on the cavity.

I never messed with that lefty till last night except to play it on youtube and noodle around on it, so who knows what I will see when I take the cover off. In fact it still had the original strings on it since I bought it ( until last night that is )
nice thing about having a lot of the same units is I have good examples of where things should be attached in them

Crap...I think I have a bass with 2 year+ old strings on it...I was going to do something about that today. Thanks for reminding me.
