I made this for film class. The assignment was to make a movie using deep space that had to include one chess move. I used a Burzum song for the soundtrack. Just thought you guys might like it. Not sure why there's a minute of nothing at the end.

Burzum is a Norwegian black metal band consisting of one man--Varg Vikernes (formerly in Mayhem. He is still serving a 21-year prison sentence for the murder of his band mate Euronymous and the burning of the Fantoft stave church and in prison, he has written a couple albums, this song probably being one of them).

Yeah it's very famous and very fucked up. The difference between Varg and most black metallers is that he takes himself a little too seriously. He considers himself primarily to be a skinhead, a way of life that isn't congruous with the way most black metallers choose to live as well. Even people like Watain (or King Diamond) who are very extreme and live according to the values that inspire their music are healthy enough not to murder their own band mates over a girl, over a record deal, or over some kind of hierarchy in their inverted circle of followers...who cares?? Black metal is not about politics. I don't remember who said it, but I think about it always--"preaching kills art" or something along those lines. There's a big difference between Nazis and Satanists.

i actually think varg was released not too long ago. i dont remember where i read that but i could of sworn i heard he had

I don't think he was "released" per se. It was really more of an "idiotic escape plan in which he was bound to get caught and have his sentence extended" kind of thing

He's going to be out in a couple of years...he was sentenced to 21 years in '94, I think? And that charge tacked a year or something on to his time. So about four or five years before the next Burzum album, I guess.
