Ok, first of all, there will NEVER be another band quite like ZZ Top. For greasy blues/rock, you can't do much better IMHO. Great look, great tones, great gimmicks! From Dusty Hill's awesome, grinding bass tones, to Billy Gibbon's use of a Mexican peso as a pick to get his signature harmonics, to Frank Beard on drums, they only guy in the band that doesn't actually have a beard!
And second, KISS RULES!!! I've been a fan of the original four as long as I can remember, and the best concert I've ever seen far and away was when my cousin and I were in the fourth row in front of Gene during the first reunion tour. Ace Frehley was the reason I first picked up a guitar, and he will always be my original musical hero.
And I know that a lot of folks like to bash KISS for lack of talent, but the truth is that Ace has a sound and style all his own, Gene is actually a quite capable bass player (and he also plays guitar, piano, and drums), Paul easily has one of the greatest voices rock has ever known, and Peter has to be credited as one of the best drummers of his era. In fact, I'll bet that not many of you knew that one of his early drum teachers was none other than big-band legend Gene Krupa.
OK, enough of my musical rantings and ravings!
Mike, as always, an awesome job covering some great tunes!

and as always, thanks Eric. I have been lazy and since the EPIBird is the only one NOT sitting in a case on the shelves, I have been using the thing even for practice still even with a BUSTED NUT.
yep, BUSTED......
lol, I should take a pic of the nut, the slot for the E and G strings are broke, and have been broken for at least 6 months and the strings just sits in what's left of the "groove".......still sounds ok to me, so I'll fix it when I'm bored in 2010 or right before I go and sell the thing off
