| not sure how to say awesome in chinese. i have not yet had a preamp that fit so nicely into a bass. this preamp case is thin, so is the connector and the pots are small. usually i gotta wrestle with it for several hours (and end up breaking something) move something or start removing wood. i had this thing in in an hour. i gotta go back in. i had it grounded to the vol and blend pots and i'm getting a little buzz on the bridge pickup. gonna try the bridge pickup ground on the bass and treb pots to see what i get. otherwise ... this thing sounds a lot better than the passive, slightly modified electronics i had in the tarus thru a clean channel. mr ming has done an honorable job with his preamps. i'll make the changes and give it a good test with effects and high levels on sunday. just wanted to say thanks mike ... and i hope you get the bart i sent you soon. | |

| good morning Mike, and I didn't ask the parents if it came to the house yet as it may have already...( my official mail drop-off point ) I got them from this ebay seller bigfishforever158: currently he is selling them for 12.99 among the many others who are selling some sort of Chinese pre's for under 20 bucks... http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Band-EQ-Preamp-Circuit-Active-Bass-Pickup-/150519203913?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item230ba4c849here's one that looks close enough to me to be the same thing under the black cover for 50 bucks!!! >> where's the bargain here? http://cgi.ebay.com/2-Band-Active-Bass-Preamp-3-Controls-BeQ2-3-Chrome-knob-/370448021532?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item56406c381cjust remember if you buy one,2,3,4 whatever, you will wait 2-4 weeks to get it. I asked the fool why he don't just buy 50 of them and stock em instead of one at a time...well I was pawned when he said he WAS in HK, and used a friend to talk English on ebay --hahahaha yes a 100.00 agular would be quieter, nicer longer lasting CTS pots, but for us poor folks I'm happy, and now I see you are also. Just like me sending Eric those 5.00 a set GR strings thinking he would snap one on the first couple bends. I have to ask him if he still has those strings on the unit he put them on months ago. | |

| just in case he sells out and he has before.......before you decide, I went ahead and bought 2 more using the best offer for 12.00 each, he accepted so that cuts down a little on the ship-costs.
Congrats apts3000! bigfishforever158 accepted your offer of US $24.00.
if you want one or both when I get them, I'll sell em to you....... I won't expect them to come for at least 3-4 weeks so somewhere in the middle of Dec I should get them. | |

| bartollini....hahaha a lot of stuff.. 5 pots, 2 boxes.....it's way too much including the battery for my other model2 charvel, so it will sit for a bit till I figure out which passive bass to put it in...if it fits in the Ibanez, I'll drill another hole in it ( 4 knobs now ), and put it in... | |

| Too confusing for me. I could never get it to ground correctly. Buzz, buzz, buzz. Perhaps mike will have better luck with it. | |

| and like you, I like "simple" meaning I took out the crappy PHAT out of my Ibanex and tossed a j2000 in it... I ordered 5 more of those jackson pre's shipped for 50 bucks and they should be here this week some time. and 2 more Mr Mings are still on the way sometime in the middle of December. my other existing Mr Ming is still sitting in the shelf for something...I just don't know yet...maybe a preamp pedal? pretty soon I'm gonna have to start raffling these things off...lol | |
