Ola,

play a series 1, streamers (ss1/ss2), von paris piccolo bass. swapped a lot of basses the last two years.
I am building a bass (just started) and want to put a bigsby on my streamer stage 1 nt 1991…

I was looking at pictures of stanley clarke's bass with bigsby……..that's why…I came around this forum…!!!

and want to put an adapter bigsby on my streamer….. (had already kahler on ss2)

i just read a lot about bigsby's and bass. seems its possible but some machine shop work is necessary to get the cam bar to accept thicker gage bass strings. bigsby does not make a standard model for bass. if this is just a drill out or remanufacture of the cam part ... i dont know. like most things on the internet theres just not enuff info and lotsa sloppy info.

heres a stanley clarke alembic that belonged to entwhistle. notice it has a kahler trem on it ... even tho the documentation on the right is incorrect saying its schaller.

http://www.thewho.net/whotabs/gear/bass/bass7485.html

point is ... dont believe everything you read.

if it is possible, we are here to help you figure it out.

im still searching. i cant find a pic of this alembic with a bigsby.

anyhow ... welcome to BTF.

tada!

and yes ... on the issue of instrument top real estate and saddles placed for proper intonation, i would go with this shorter horseshoe bigsby design to start.

I haven't contacted Gretsch about this, but it looks like they will make a Bigbsy bass trem, but only for their White Falcon bass.
