| Only comes on the Gretsch White Falcon, as an option, sadly. | |

| Thanks, Bill! I knew I was overlooking another bass trem model somewhere! | |

| That makes me think of Barkless Dog...is he on the new board? I remember that he is into Bigsbys and sleek, classy instruments like that. | |

| Come to think of it, I don't believe he has found us just yet.
OK. I just sent him a message with the new link through MySpace, so hopefully he'll surface again soon.

| Nice looking bass, the MSRP is like $4500. | |

| Glad to see Barkless back.
I know...I'd love to try a bass with a Bigsby on it one day. The Bigsby guitar trems are fun!

| For what I understand, they don't have a whole lot of range to them, but they do make for some interesting little vibrato effects. | |

| They aren't as limited as I had expected. Once I got used to the wide and thick bar, it had a very usable range (no Floyd Rose or anything), but it felt pretty stiff because of the simplicity and the nature of the design, I think. | |

| Really? What sort of drop would it do? | |

| On the guitar? Definitely not Kahler-like drop. The bar was low to the face of the guitar, so that stopped it from being intense, but the mechanics of the tremolo didn't feel like they hampered the range at all. Going up, I could imagine breaking strings easy. The feathery nature of the really springy Bigsby system doesn't make it feel very metal, you know? So, it's best for more subtle thigns not necessarily because of the range, I don't think, but because of the feel of the trem. It didn't return to zero snappy like a 3 spring Kahler, but it was much more subtle than a 2 spring. So...I don't know. I'd love to try one again. Those hollowbody Gretch guitars are awesome. | |

| I played one once, one a very similar guitar to the bass in the pic, and honestly, was afraid to push down much in case I'd break the hollow top.... | |

| Great loooks but sadly, I believe could never live up to a Kahler in function. Above all it is about function for me. | |

| I concur on all points. Oops! Martin, I think I originally misunderstood you. I thought you meant the you had tried a bass Bigsby instead of a guitar Bigsby, so I was hoping to get your feedback regarding how well they work for bass. I have also played guitars with Bigsbys, since Linda's old Epiphone Casino had one on it, so I did get to see how they work for guitar. Interesting, but I couldn't get that thing to stay in tune for nothing! | |

| Basses like that White Falcon are probably used in orchestras, popular GB bands etc... the design itself isn't practical for anything heavy. I wouldn't mind having one though! | |
