| It occurred to me that I never put in a thread devoted to those things....um....what are they called again? You know....what we attach our trems to? Um....let's see here....OH YEAH! BASSES!So what do you dream about? I don't necessarily mean a Steinberger with a TransTrem, because we ALL want one of those! I mean, is there a particular brand you like? An Alembic? A Jaco-esque Fender fretless? A broom handle on an inverted wash basin? Also, if you find something truly unique and weird, this would be a good place to post it. I'll start. I'm friends on Facebook with an awesome bassist from Moscow, Russia named Serge Tevelman, and he posted this recently: Now that's a bass with Attitude! | |

| Ain't it just? And yes, I do believe it's a Yamaha, since I seem to recall seeing Billy Sheehan playing an Attitude double-neck. But this one has obviously been given a lot of upgrades, such as the Kahler trem, the MM-style pickups at the bridges, and the fact that the bottom neck is an eight-string. It's an awesome bass, but I'd be willing to bet that it's also a back-breaker! | |

| Great looking basses Eric. Where are the other 4 tuners on the 8 string? Or are they just out of sight? Also, I read some great reviews on the sandberg basses. Great stuff (like anything from Germany in my oppinion). (No I'm not German, I live a full 15 km (10 miles) from their border ) Love to try a sandberg out one day. | |

| Jim, I believe the bass uses the regular tuners on the headstock, and the tuners that appear to be located at the bridge. But why in the heck does there appear to be....two sets of bridge tuners? One set on the top of the body....the other on the bottom....oh, DUOH!!! Wait a minute!!! Why didn't I notice this before??? That lower neck isn't an eight-string, but is, in fact, a twelve-string! Look closely at the strings. That's not simply pairs for each note, but are really triplets! | |

| You are correct, Sir! From the Hamer website: " In 1978 Hamer constructed the world’s first twelve string bass. The design was based upon the ancient Tiple with four groups of three strings. Easier to play than it would appear, every bassist owes it to themselves to have one in their collection. Sometimes called the “pocket piano,” it is a bold sonic statement that is perfect for trio applications as well as ensemble settings. The twelve string has a thunderous roar and stinging overtones that are the signature sound of this unique instrument. Also available as an eight string, the Chaparral bass is another icon of Hamer history." | |

Did you mean a P from these folks, Boots?
http://www.sandberg-guitars.de/ those are the ones, but with a list price of around $1800 it's pretty far back on my to do list | |
