| Do you mean the Eden amp head? If so, then I can totally agree, if not from direct experience. Although I haven't ever used much Eden gear, I've always heard that they are top of the line. Do you own one, T? | |

| I've sold my ashdown combo to upgrade to a more powerfull rig. Looking to buy two eden wp-100's and a poweramp. Still thinking about the speaker though. I really dig phil jones bass gear (don't know if I can afford it though). That eden stuff sounded really clear and hifi to me. Really dig it, that's why I'm going for it. I can understand why some people are more into ampeg stuff though. I say, if you like it get it. In the future I'm also looking to loop my stereo through my bass rig, will probably be way overkill, but that's the way I like it! | |

| hey Jim, what's so bad about playing your stereo thru your bass rig? I have used my bass rig to "enhance" my stereo for years before I got home speakers worthy of calling them speakers...lol | |

| I don't think there's anything wrong with it. But is was looking at some stuff, and of the things was a eden wt1250 poweramp. 1200 watts RMS is quite much of power for a stereo (still no problem, just a bit overkill, that's all). | |

| Not turn it up that loud? When you got the power you some times just need to use it! As my father always says (in dutch): Let's blow the dust of this bad boy! | |

| Just won an auction on ebay last night (man my girlfriend was pissed of when I woke up at four at night to bid at the last moment!), I have won the following:
eden wp100 preamp eden wt1250 power amp
(at about 600 dollars (nice price), but add shipping, and I'll have to change voltage to european, but still....
Very nice deal IMHO!
I can't wait until it comes in!

| Wanna have a small laugh at my expense?
"the package is 70 pounds sending through usps cost is $248.00"
Well, I knew it wasn't gonna be cheap. Still way better price then I would ever have gotten here in Europe (even second hand).

| amp+cab weight I guess. Ya I sold a neckthru in a box to a guy in Sweden for a reasonable shipping price, but he got stickershock from the import tax. So ya item+ship+tax can be a bummer. not for us here | |

| I am well aware off the tax, that's gonna be once again about 150 dollar. I accept these things because I know there are not many alternative options out there......
Sometimes I feel that it is really a shame that not very many companies exist in Europe that make musical instrument parts. Perhaps they feel that it's no beginning against the big boys in America and Japan? (Gotoh, Hipshot which I do think are two companies with good products)
Although there are some companies like ABM that make very good products (a bit expensive though, but still at competing price when you include shipping and tax to the US stuf).
The only european companies I would consider buy amplification from that are European are the big German ones: Genz Benz, Glockenklang and perhaps TecAmp (a somewhat newer player, but also high quality). When you take in acount I want two seperate preamps and one poweramp to run it in bridged mono, the only player still in the run would be Glockenklang withtheir Bass Art Classic Preamp.

| Also in cludes a rack in which both are mounted, and cords and stuf of course. Well, I don't even know if it's exactly 70 pounds, postal services work in categories, I think one category is "between 20 and 70 pounds" at USPS, so I think my package is in there.... At least.... That's how I guess the sender came up with the 70 pounds, and I just took it over as weight, but I guess it is probably weight category..... You get my point. Edit: You've got a crown? Cool! What kind? I hear they are great! | |

| ya my days of hauling a 50+lb rack are long gone. 23lbs total on the bathroom scale and less than 500bucks for everything including the rack: I didn't need the tuner or mixer, but I like true stereo so I used a 6space effect rack or it would be a 4space rack and weigh even less. ( the green cord in front is my DI output which uses the headphone control so it is independently adjustable to the PA. | |

| Weight is not so much an issue for me (yet) I'm a big strong boy (6 feet 5 inches), but I'm assembling my first (real) rig this and next year, after that I can perhaps in time replace stuff for lighter stuf as long as the quality is the same or better (like the crown, great light stuf). | |

| wait 30 years, you'll change your mind..hahah but seriously I found no audible difference in my 36lb lead sled Mackie compared to that Crown. I was gonna buy a Peavy IPR DSP1600 cause the specs and weight were similar, but the Crown was 100bucks less. | |

| Can I ask how much you payed for the Crown? I feel that very often the list price of "bass dedicated power amps" (if such a thing even exists, which I think doesn't, so lets call it power amps made by bass amp manufacterers) is way too high as compared to "regular power amps". For example, the list price of the Eden wt1250 I just bought of ebay was 1500 bucks (bit steep IMHO). | |

| sure, it was 300 bucks new with a 3year warranty. They are usually all over ebay for 300-400. I would have bought an XLS1000, but I usually run 2 channels @ 8ohms and the 1500 is 300watts, the 1000 is closer to 225 and wasn't enough in my mind. | |
