I cant get a good drop from my kahler. The most i can get is about 2 and a half steps down and i use 45s. How can i get a bigger drop? I remember you guys talking about how you can get it over an octave down. Do i take the bridge off and do something or is it just my bass?

Use lighter gauge strings. The less tension, the more you'll drop. If you play in standard exclusively (or almost exclusively), try using 35 or even 30 sets.

Actually, the best way to get the most drop is to tighten the cam adjustment screw. It's that little allen head screw located dead center of the top of the cam, and between the arm holes. Just be careful not to tighten it too far, otherwise it will drop right out from the bottom. To be honest, I've never found the stock screw to be long enough to be able to adjust the cam enough for my tastes anyways, so I now replace them with longer screws. Also, you will want to adjust this screw with the strings slackened, otherwise that little screw is subjected to the full force of the string tension, and you could break the brass spring retainer located underneath the cam.

I've never gotten an octave of range on the G string, and I've tried the top four strings from a six string set (something like .030 .040 .060 .080 I think). Personally, those strings were WAY too light for me, but they did have a huge range. Oh yeah, this is after I replaced the screw Eric mentioned with a longer one (Home Depot has them if you don't mind them having a head on top).
