Has anyone tried these yet, and what do you think?

I have an idea to get one to put on a cheap spare bass, a bass which doesn't have the value to justify an expensive Kahler etc. system.

Also curious to know if there are any routing diagrams for this?
If not, I'll have to improvise.

I found a video, but it may be an original bridge that the TK18 is only a copy that it is based on.

So, how is it?

Greetings VIAT! Nice to have you on board.

I know of two folks that have purchased and installed this exact same bass trem, both of whom are members. Our own MadMike, and John Gallagher of Raven. Both of them said the same thing. Not worth it. They observed that the mechanism was stiff, had a tendency to fall apart, did not perform well, and the "fine tuners" didn't seem to work at all.

I imagine that someone with some metal-working skills might be able to tweak one of these into working, but for the average layman, I would probably steer clear of this one.

I had this mounted on a Washburn bantam bass if I remember correctly. I thought it was a Back trem.

Basicly, the majority of action is from bending the mount, rather than pivoting on an axis balancing strings with springs.

I hated it. I hated the bass. Couldn't get it outta my shop fast enuff.

Oh dear!
Glad I didn't bother, would've meant routing a bass for it, which in foresight would mean ruining it for nothing.

Thanks for the input.

No problem! Glad to have been able to save you from ruining a bass! Wink
