| so I recently added an Ibanez Ergodyne EDA905 to my arsenal.. about back and forth to defret it, make it a 5str fretless, dunno yet.. so I did a little setting, the neck is straight now, strung with MTD strings, tune EADGC, the piezo sounds great IMO | |

| I had an edb 600 for almost 10 years. Loved it.
The frets started getting beat, wasn't worth a refret and ibanez wouldn't sell me a new neck or do a fretjob without sending it back to japan ... really?
I sacrificed it to the bass gods. I still have some of its parts in the parts bin.
Nice score btw.. | |

Nice score btw.. thanks Mike, and yes the frets on this 2002 EDA was getting beat too, thats way I wanna defret it, undecided yet, we'll see.. the pickups and/or EQ section of this bass is not good enough IMHO, lack of bottom, but the mids was great though. maybe I'll seek a delano xtender or 2 band pre to throw in, or maybe both Mike, is it true that we can't route a luthite body, becoz if we route it will cracks?

| I installed a kahler trem in mine. The luthite is chalky and brittle. After I got thru the thick finish I just used files, chisels and sandpaper to cut the pocket. When it was ready I sealed up the pocket insides eith many coats of black enamel.
I would be cautious about routing into it. Maybe crack. Maybe crumble into dust.
