| so to get the board talking for this week, let me tell a story. I went and did a charitable contribution to the cancer society from a guy on TalkBass. 100bucks got me a prize: it is a 89 Charvel 575 and the guy said under that fur is a dinged up body, but plays fine with good frets and neck...etc... LIKE I REALLY NEED ANOTHER UNIT OVER HERE ( I'm leaving the fur ON ) | |

| Very cool, it takes a real man to leave the fur on that thing and perform with it live and still feel secure | |

| oh Jim...if was ONLY a lefty though, I'll look like a 100% pure dork ....BUT maybe for one or 2 supereasy songs I can play righthanded I dunno. It was a nice prize for a charitable contribution. You can bet on me making a youtube video with it flipped over for sure | |

| Awesome, Can't you just change the string order bass to treble? Seems like the knobs won't be in the way too much, they seem to sink away quite much in the fur | |

| whats that mean change the string order? I play inverted normally so flipping a righty requires no mods. | |

| Sorry for me being unclear and ignorant about your playing style. I know I've read you play inverted somewhere, I should have remembered it. I just like the look so much that I would most certainly use it live myself | |

| no problem, I don't say it in every thread I have for sure... I can play normal but still lefty but all my leftys except for one are strung inverted. too use to running patterns that way from so many years doing it. | |

| I got the box and here's what was in it: Holo sticker WTH? it's BLUE!!! ZON strings HAHAHA 24 bucks a pack. the control cover is there just no screws for it. anyway the glue is all dried out so I'll find my 3M spray and get it back on. OR, If I can find a product that will take the old glue off without destroying the finish I actually may just take the fur off since I thought it was black and it is really blue either way I'll put it together and jam it in a video this weekend. | |

| removing adhesive without damaging a poly or nitro lacquer finish .........
use to rub ... not soak.
try rubbing alcohol first.
if that doesnt work so well .......
naptha.
as a last resort, ide try orange solv.
anything more caustic or solvent will melt, warp or stain it. | |

| Im not so sure ide put all that effort into cleaning up that finish. Most modern finishes are eurethane anyway. If it wont come clean and you like the bass, strip it and lacquer it. | |
