| well after all these years, some people ( non-pros AND pros ) impress me some just don't.
I'm not interested at braggers, " I can do this and you can't"...I'm not interested in someone who has 150,000.00 worth of gear to show off with and snub someone with a 200.00 bass, just good players who work hard to get where they are from all genres.

I find that musicians tend to be very particular about players they like or don't like - I don't hear much about a musician leaving another musician indifferent... So to get a thumbs up from someone who plays the same instrument (and in your case plays it extremely well and has years experience) means alot to me, and motivates me to keep on pushing forward...

| people tend to always group the music someone plays with their abilities and effort. You know....
"your music sucks and so do you because I don't like your music" category, but not me. I look at it as tight band members doing their thing. I wouldn't want to sit thru 2-3 hours of your music, but that dosent take away from it's grandness.

| I'm kindof lucky - around here (Quebec) if someone doesn't like your playing it's rare that he (or she) will say it to your face - not hire you or say it behind your back - yes - but a straight up - 'You suck!' - never seen it happen. | |

| I contest Sylvain! I was playing a jazz gig in Albanel and someone said when we finished. ''Y'étais temps que ça fenissent, s'tais tellement d'la marde!'' ''T'was time it finished, t'was freaking ****!'' And that was from someone who appeared to be in hist late 50's. Anyway, I took a good laugh about it! | |
