Honestly, I'm a little skeptical about this one, but I would love to be proven wrong. I do love the fact that Billy worked with EBS to create this pedal with the intention of emulating his Pearce preamps as close as possible, since that tone is AWESOME. But I still wonder about the signal divide, and what it does to the gain structure of the distortion side.
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Every bass distortion pedal I've ever tried divides the signal along two paths (clean and distorted), which effectively cuts the impact on both, since this means that both sides are now receiving only half of the pickups power. And every single time, I can hear the losses.
But still, I hope this pedal is everything Billy says it is. Like I said, I would love to be wrong on this one!

Can't wait to get mine! Going to run it in front of the high end channel on my Pearce. I have it setup for high end/slight Overdrive right now but since the other channel handles all the low end and I compress both channels, I can use the clean loop on this pedal to keep the compression off the overdrive.

"To give you that extra "schmutz", I'm not sure what that means"
It is German for dirt!
I guess Billy got to such a high level in scientology that he is spontaneaously learning foreign languages!

yes ... it does sound good and i like the tone of the drive.
but seeing both of these videos still leaves me with questions.
the one video the cat is playing a bass with a model one on a P/J bass aka, "mother". the other video the cat is playing an attitude LTD, billy's signature bass with the model one and model p. now ... having had built a LTD from a M plus (all that crazy wiring with DPDT's, cap experimentation and pickup experimentation (i went thru 4 sets of pickups and like 20 different caps)) and mother being very similar (i dont know where that cat got that one or if its a fender custom reiussue? or whats in it) ya gotta admit; and i'm sure al knows this because he plays one (exclusively?) .... both of those basses are quite different from your average run of the mill split humbucker p type or single coil jazz bass. sure it has billy's tone ... its his stuff.
that being said ... whats this pedal gonna sound like on my washburn with side by side single coil humbuckers al la jazz with a pre or my MM HH carvin V440?
i need to see a video of someone demoing this pedal with a non - billy sheehan type scenario. i'll look later ... i gotta go to the store with "wifey".

Here is someone demoing it with what is I'm assuming active pick ups. You bring up a good point, will this pedal sound good with out loud *** Dimarzio's pushing it? The pedal in this review, doesn't sound near as good as the others but it was the first time the guy was using it and you can't get a good idea from a pedal using it for 9 mins.
