| some guy posted this on CL for $600 two weeks ago. it looks cool. certainly an awesome body design (i like it). plenty of room for a kahler. its just the wood and frets. no electronics / no hardware. and its got finish flaws that this cat tried to fix with epoxy filler (not my first choice, but its done already). so i e mailed him and told him i'de give him $100 for it. he got back to me on wed and said he'de take 100 for it. i actually think this is a ritter ... certainly looks like one ... except for the headstock shape. that and this is an unfinished project ... notice no holes for the pots and there is 0 fretwear (its never been stringed or played) and ritter would not release an unfinished bass. dood told me that this bass was custom made by some guy in brazil. i would have no idea how to confirm that. if anyone has any idea what this is ... please let me know. so .......... the epoxy sanded out so so. again, not my first choice ... its clear and you can still see the cracks in the wood. maybe ittl look better when i tongue oil it ... but i've never run across something like this before. i dont know if i shud dig it out and fill it with a glue / dust mixture so ittl match better, stain or brown magic marker or woodwork touch up marker it or just let it go. and it had polyurethane all over it ... yuk! got ken armstrong humbuckers for it (because i can afford them). havent decided to go passive or what preamp to put in it. black wilkinson tuning keys. tusq nut. the p / warmoth is in parts and out of commission (i'm gonna do a new body for it) so i swiped the kahler off it. and all black hardware. gotta make a truss rod cover. thinking about doing some kind of inlay work. tongue oil finish. it shud be done in about 2 weeks ... i'll psot pics when its done. | |

| Hmmm....it could be a Ritter, but it made me think of a Carl Thompson first. It reminds me a lot of a few basses CT I've seen Les Claypool with. Just a suggestion. (cut to a few minutes later) OK, I take that back. I just did a side-by-side comparison of the two, and I think you're right MadMike. It does more closely resemble a Ritter. But since the guy said it came from Brazil, I'm wondering if it isn't a homebrew project that someone did using Ritter as a concept idea. | |

| just finished this morning ...... i still never found out who made the body. now, i know everyone is into super thin necks, top to bottom and front to back, but i didnt make this neck ... so it is what it is ... and i kinda like it. its about 1.65" from back of neck to frets and the nut with is 1.9" ... i know! huge, right. for all its worth, this whole bass is huge. its like putting a strap on a cello. but the sound ... this thing sounds great! heres the specs .......... walnut, ash and rosewood. tongue oil finish. kahler 2410 trem (short arm ... sorry). tesla corona humbuckers (i really like em and will use them more in the future) passive. two volume, master tone. wilkenson tuner machines. custom truss rod cover. tusq custom graphite nut. dunlop strap locks (old style). custom rosewood back plate. i will post it tomorrow on ebay for more. if you want to buy it through here, you get the BTF discount (and i'll put new rotos on it too) ........... $750 | |

| Really nice bass, looks very boutique.
My only complaint is your photos are not so great (sorry). Try to take your pictures in natural sun light from a window or outside. Great photos will get you top dollar.

| dood ... i just had surgery on my hands ... so .... no.
and plus, i really think thats kinda silly. i mean, i have a tascam thats pretty good; but you really cant get what the bass "sounds" like ... because the recording sounds like bass guitar on a tascam.
or is it because you wanna see if it works because your gonna buy it ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Well, I think that even a low quality recording still gives you an idea of the tone of the instrument... And if I had more disposible income I would take it!

| if I had disposable income for basses I would get kicked out of my house because I would not only take over 1 room with units, but I'd fill 3 rooms full of them. ( and would need to get an increase on personal property value/loss from my insurance company ) | |

| Thanx ... but im gonna say that's not true. Not since the Carvin V440, and I think bc rich offered one or two, there are no mass produced basses that you can get with a stock kahler trem. Fodera ... its an option (thanx victor wooten) and carl thompson will do it. | |

| ho-ho-ho This is not a kids bass nor is it for the "touch" player. This bass is HUGE and heavy; and so is the tone. The neck is 1.8" wide at the nut and 1" from back of neck to the fretboard at the nut. If you like jazz style basses, ibanez or any other of the thin speed necks than this bass isn't for you. If you like Warwick, Spector and other big necks, than you'll like this. | |

| "this bass isn't for wussies!"
furreal, the neck is super beefy. just wanted to let them know. its an adjustment for me to play it, but i've gotten an appreciation for bigger playing areas lately ... that yamaha isnt exactly slimline either.
chekin out my stuff on ebay ... ha!
