| Was cruisng the internet looking for a new bass perhaps, something used to refinish, gear and or parts and I found this ... http://www.c2coffer.com/i_20128396-Rickenbacker+4003+bass+Natural+Electric+bass+BRotnrCurious. A ric for a few hundred bucks? It even has the trussrod cover that says, "rickenbacker made in usa" on the headstock. Notice that the pickups are different than the authentic 4003. And chek out the sellers statement. Do you guys think this guy knows mr ming? | |

| I am still waiting for the threads started every month on TB "has anyone ever bought one", or "who wants to take the chance" ...etc.. I'll bet they would send you what they sell with no problems.
The mings took 3 weeks, I cant imagine it taking any longer for a big package like that to get here. Ya if you could tie up or throw away 300 it actually might be worth it if it was damaged or unplayable.
lots of ebay sellers selling the same stuff. | |

| Hmmm....my initial gut reaction is that there is NO way that could be a real Ric. Methinks it's clearly an Asian copy. It might not be a bad bass, but unless Rickenbacker has decided to unveil some new line of econo basses (maybe they have???), it's not the genuine article. The name on the headstock plate makes me think that if it is a bootleg, these guys won't be in business too much longer, since they are clearly ripping off the trademark. | |

| the 2 chinese sites traddetang and i dhgate have probably a 70-30 ratio of "i got s&$t and am beat", to "wow this thing is nice" comments. so it's a crapshoot at best what your gonna get in the mail. I was asked to buy a fake jackson, and it looked good, it may have been just as nice as any real jackson, but the guy kept it when i told him it was a fake and showed him what was wrong on it..remember that thread? | |

| Indeed I do. I think the Ric is another example of a decent fake. Of course, the body and pickups on the fake Ric don't really look genuine to begin with, so maybe it's not such a great copy after all. I dunno. The web is full of a lot of strange things! | |
