| You'll notice how wide the frame is on the fiver, since it's now the exact same frame that the sixer uses.
By the way, that's a beautiful bass!

Yeah, I bought my Kahlers like one month before the changeover(even less, I think), and the five string one, would not, no way fit a regular five string, I was really, really bummed/p****d off, so it got thrown into a drawer for a few months. Later being converted to a four string and used on my Jazz, and more recently, reassembled as a super tight *shred* fiver, on a P. Here's a pic, 14.5mm spacing, see, would no way fit a regular fiver, thats tuned E to C, btw.

| I've seen that fiver of yours before, Bill. And yet, it still knocks the wind out of me every time I see it. Pure poetry! | |

| Hahah, thanks guys, but you can see the old 5er would never have done on a regular bass, the swap was a fantastic thing for them to do. | |

| You really did an outstanding job there, Bill! Can you post pictures of the headstock mods? | |

| Thanks man, and of course you can! The nut, I made myself, from perspex, works fine so far. Tuner is a different brand, as is the string, lol. | |

| What's perspex, if you don't mind me asking? You'd think that the strings would come off the nut at wacky angles when you'd do something like that to a bass, but it works out so well on there! | |

| I didn't know it was an SX! That's awesome, Bill!
Does the B string give you any tuning problems since it's at a slight angle?

| Oh, and while I'm mentioning this bass, I removed the series/parallel switch from it. And added a coil tap, so its Humbucker/single, and it's much better this way, honestly, the single sounds like a pure buttah bass pickup, smooth, loud, full range, low end, and sparkle. Perspex, its similar to acrylic Martin, plastic glass. Eric, its tuned E to C, for shreddin! And the E has given me no trouble, plenty loose slot though. And yup, SX, this was my first bass! Still love it, even if its completly different! | |

| Nice, man! That's what I want to do on my BTB: Vol--series/parallel--output. | |

| I'm digging the single/series more than the parallel, honestly, but if you play in a noisey enviroment, you'll need parallel to buck hum, does it even better than series, honestly. | |

| Whoops...I meant to say that I wanted to do it with the on/on/on coil cut/series/parallel wiring. Typing a little too fast there for my own good. | |

Ah, best option of all, all three sounds, perfect, I didn't have room for the full switch at the time, so went with the easy option, push pull.

| I'm most interested in the two switches, one for coil tap, the other for series/parallel, but I wasn't able to find the right switches, so I'll leave that for a later project. | |

| Wow, didn't expect to see this bumped up after so long!
Cheers dude.
At the moment, my fave part about it is that it's quicky convertable, takes 20 mins give or take to swap it to a 4 string mode(where it is currently), or back to 5 string.
