it improved my tone completely. i get a nice warm tone with the g string. slapping sounds amazing. i thought i had to get another amp because i hated my tone until i got the kahler. i had to get another B string cuz when i divebombed it kept on falling off the roller. whats it called when the string is skinnier in the start of it than the rest?

| Cool, man! Yeah those bridges are tone city.
I think you're talking about a tapered B string. I think Warwick makes those...or something. Alembic used to make something similar to that as well. Maybe they still do.
Get yourself a long trem arm from fretsonthenet.com and you're set!

| You're correct, Martin. The term is tapered.
And BBMN, I second Martin's recommendation to get yourself a longer arm. It'll make tremming that much easier, and it will also save your forearm.

| Woohoo! 100 points for the correct answer!!! After getting a vintage arm, I literally can not go back to the modern arm, even with it bent, it's just too stiff. | |

| So BBMN, the tapered B string works alright when divebombing? I'm curious to get a bass without a Kahler bridge that's the same as one with and A/B them. Oh! Looks like I need another Blitz now! No avoiding it. | |

| Huh nice. How does it sound and feel in comparison to a non-tapered B? | |

| Huh. Cool! I might want to give one of those a try for that factor. It's probably how I play and how I have everything set up, but I tend to have a bit of trouble getting a B string to have the volume I want from it. I kinda want to try one of those.
But I really don't play anything with a low B that often...kinda wish I did, but maah.

| Oh yeah, man...they're the best you can get right now, I think. I'd still like a longer arm, but hey...some day. I have to get the tuning stability worked out on my Hamer first. | |
