dont you cats watch baseball?

i just wanted to thank the phillies for a great season this year.

some changes need to be made in the off season. the bats were off this year. the phils just werent playing world series caliber baseball.

case in point ... the giants are not a world series caliber baseball team either ... and they won the national championship.

i have two things to say ......

lets go rangers!

and .....

lets go flyers!

I'll admit that I don't really follow baseball all that much. Basketball isn't my thing, either. Football and hockey are my games. But I will also admit that once in a while, I find myself watching the end of some baseball games simply to see how they turn out.

Nope. Don't think my TV's even plugged in.

there are definitely better things to do than just sit around and watch t.v. all the time.

i'm also fascinated by those that i know that spend endless hours playing video games.

go get a hobby.

go to a museum.

play on or go coach a local minor league sports team.

learn a new instrument.

create some artwork.

get a lomo and take some pictures.

bake some cookies for your neighbors.

put a kahler on your bass.

haha I spend way too much time rotting my brain on the computer. I've been done with video games for a while now, though. I'm trying to work more reading and physical activity into my days and I may have just found a job at a natural foods store! I haven't had a job in over a year.

What if Someone's hobby is making video games

Would have been cool to have the Phili's & Rangers in a world series.

Being from the Bay Area, I rather enjoy that the Giants are in the World Series, but I also know what you are saying, BD.

Did anyone see the game between the Steelers and the Dolphins? That botched call where Ben Roethlisberger tried to run in the touchdown, fumbled at the end zone, and the officials gave the ball back to Pittsburgh? I know we have a couple of Pittsburgh folk here, so I mean no disrespect, and I'm not really a fan of either team, but can anyone who saw it honestly say that Miami shouldn't have gotten the ball? From what I saw, it was a Miami defender that fell on the ball.

ruling is ...

the ground can't cause a fumble.

one knee down before the ball popped out and the player is down.

when reviewed, there needs to be irrefutable evidence for a ruling to be overturned on the field.

so here we go .........

i think rothesberger lost possession before the ball hit the ground, over the line for the touchdown ... but there was no evidence of the ball being free untill he hit the ground.

ben was lunging straight forward to force the ball over the line. i watched the replay several times and every time ... i watched the ball ... not whether his knee was down or not. perhaps this is why the ruling was made the way it was. they thought he had a knee down maybe.

a dolphin clearly fell on the ball in the endzone ... but a steeler came up with it when the refs were trying to figure out a call (and they didnt untill after the review! i think they botched that part too. they didnt know who had possession!).

i'm still really not sure if they made the "right" call or the "wrong" call ... but they did make A call and thats what needed to happen in that situation ... they didnt think it was a fumble but they didnt think it was a touchdown either. was it the correct call? ... i dont think so. what was? i dunno.

on a play like that, with all the different elements and ruling that comes into play in such a split second of time ... it makes me glad that i'm not a NFL referee!
