Alright, I just ordered the last of the parts--a pickup ring for the X2N7 from fretsonthenet last weekend! My mom's boyfriend, Wayne, is going to let me use his tools, workspace, and help me get this thing right! I'm taking it over there to start work this weekend. No more soldering on the washing machine! I'm stoked!

As you might know, I was going to have our own Madmike work on it for me, but the shipping wound up being insane. Sorry that didn't work out, bro!

Plus, I uncovered an X2N that I had misplaced months ago the other day!

You bet I will--and video (amimbari)! Some of my friends have been telling me I need to make a YouTube and become and internet star....I'll make a YouTube, but we'll see about the rest.

I'm going to wait to install the bridge pickup until the bezel gets here (ca. 3 weeks) since I need to mount the pickup ring right up against the trem's base plate to cover the J pickup route. I'll just wire up the Model P at first to test it out and set it up if it works properly, then disassemble the guitar again and install the bridge pickup when the ring arrives. I wish I could do the routing for the second pickup now, but I just don't know how the pickup will fit in the bezel--I'll need the pickup ring in my hands to figure out where the pickup route will go.

And for the sake of cosmetics, I want to make a little triangular scratch plate out of 1-ply black anything at some point to cover the holes and scratches on the finish.
