| Hamer made a good amount of these in the 80's. I remember a local music store having an Explorer variant with 8 strings. It sat there for 3 years because of the price tag. | |

| He might have an eighter in his arsenal, but the bass you typically see him with (besides his red Explorer with trem) is a twelver. | |
