| oh GOD...don't think I'm gonna rip on you...I just wanted to say that song ( beyond the voice ) sounds very IronMaidenish, and you are very good holding the tempo. if it was me I would have followed the drums a lot closer, and not played that 1/4 note tempo thru the whole thing, I would have used 16th and 32nd notes to match the drummers every beat especially when he does the doublebass thing. now that I said that, I have to ask the following since I have done the same thing for many people in the studio environment: were you asked to play it note for note "as written", if so, then my previous statement is invalid. was it just played freestyle, and you just elected NOT to follow the drummers bassdrums every beat? and finally, would you be upset and think I'm an a** if I re-do that same song in freestyle, and show you a different interpretation of the same thing, since your a valued member of Eric's board, and we all like to show our own style to help/show each other what we all do here. <<<< ( just so you can hear what I "hear" when I listen to you playing that song )? I have 30,000 tunes more to do on my "myNameIsEarl" list, but I'm sure I can do that one soon, as it is very easy to hear the bassline. I added that jam to my favorites, and will grab the audio out of it, as well as me subbing to your channel so when you add more, I'll know | |

| I agree with you on all your points.Since the drummer is playing so much the producer wanted me to keep things really simple and then add some licks here and there. This song was in fact not on the demo cd that i got,so i had to learn it as we went along. That simple pattern felt good immediately and helped to move the song forward. The producer deliberately avoided doubling the bass on most of the double bassdrum parts as i recall because it was felt that it would be to much for the song.. The whole album is a bit "stiff" in the bass department because of the massive amount of drumming on it. This was the producers first time working on an international release,so he really wanted to deliver a good product to the record label. | |

| Dude--I think amimbari has a great idea to re-interpret it. If you feel like it, that is. I would really ejnoy hearing what you imagine over that now, if it is in fact something different. | |
