t he pickups will be Octobers - humbucker/p-bass/humbucker and the humbuckers are damn good...loud & full range... I should have a progress update next week as they just added the truss rod & routed the control cavity... and I'll make sure everything's blue!!! ha!! I have a load of great pix from Japan...too big to host here so I'll bang them to Eric.. cheers, John

God, I was thinking about buying my teacher's Warwick, but now I might not. This thing sounds awesome!

I'm guessing it's a blue finish, but it sounds like a car freshener scent or a Simple Green ripoff

Yeah no joke, dude. If they start making something like this for average Joes like us, I might have to reevaluate my GAS situation.

OK! John hasn't been able to post this just yet, but here is a picture of his newest creation I got off of Facebook:
The trem is a custom creation, since the bass is an eight-string. I'm sure we'll get John to post on this soon once he gets the time to do so.

Hi!!! been a while...been out and about doing a lot of the Euro festivals and having a blast...! The 8 string saga continues...it was 99.9% ready - then a finish issue basically ruined the clear coat and its had to be totally stripped & redone...ugh! then roll in the heat wave we are having & the October shop a/c died...its a conspiracy!!! so, for your entertainment..heres a youtube video ..part of a pilot reality show thing they were doing with October where you get to hear me mangle the explorer...and I have a daft bit at the very end....enjoy!
other than that ...just got an Epi T-bird - silverburst w. chrome pickups.....anyone stick a kahler on one of these??? sounds like a plan! cheers, John
and heres us at the gods of metal festival in Italy....

that thing was for sale about 2 years ago, I didn't have the cash so I told a friend who also collects Jackson stuff and he bought it... I was going to do that to my JacksonBird, but was always scared for reselling purposes if I ever needed to sell it..so my Tbird still has the 2440 fixed kahler on it.
but yep, you wanted to see a tbird with a kahler, and I knew I still had the pics around

Hi, yeah..its a tough call..but at then end of the day..screw it!!! I'm gonna put either a Hipshot or a Kahler on....and I'm tempted to put a Jazz neck on..the T-bird neck is cool but so, so fragile...one bang & the headstock is gone on these things...and I'm good at banging my basses around...too good! but that Jackson is sweeeeeeeet!!!

that p/j ia a 87 customshop build, the kahler was naturally added later.
mine is a 94 version when they used emg 35p4 and 35j in the square housings to change the look around but retain the singlecoil tone and came with the emg bass/treb preamp and not just tone.
they also reversed the fins to distinguish the USA from MIJ.

Hi Eric, It was fun doing that. I've never done a clinic-thing before..so I just talked about my basses and why I use such weird ****, and played a bit. After they ran outta questions I said "ok..you asked for it..." and made 5 mins of noise...!

I'd say John more than gives Steve Harris a run for his money here! Just ordered the album.

I'm waiting for my copy to come before I listen to the entire album. Just checked out that one song on youtube. So many of my early Maiden favorites. Murders in the Rue Morgue, Wrathchild, Remember Tomorrow, Phantom of the Opera, Running Free. Can't wait for it to come! Paul may have had a sorted pass (Sanctuary from the law, anyone?) But he could really sing back in the day so him and John on back up vocals with his bass playing tossed in should make a good listen!

Awesome! John Gallagher of RAVEN!!!!!!!!! I remember the solo I.G.A.R.B.O...my guitarist turned me on to it... THAT TREM!!!!!!! I promptly went out and traded my Harmony P Bass copy for a Hondo P Bass copy with a Kahler trem on it..I MISS THAT BASS!!! I de-fretted it,added a single coil pup in the bridge position, and painted it purple. Got stolen back in 91..ugh.. Now I'm jazzed about getting a Kahler trem on my Ibanez Sound Gear 6 string! Been a long time since I played a bass with a trem..... Mr. Gallagher..you sir, rock.
