Hey guys
I SCUBA dive, and I'm going diving in Monterey tomorrow (closest dive site to my house). I'm really excited. It's SO FREAKING COLD all year round, so you have to where a 2 piece 7mm wet suit with a hood and gloves, plus the tank and everything else (BTW, that old TV show where that guy could sprint into the water wearing SCUBA gear? total BS. all that stuff weighs a ton). All that neoprene is pretty buoyant, so to counteract that I need another 28lb of weight. Everytime I go diving there, I always think to myself "seriously, is all this **** worth it? Waking up at 5AM, driving for 1.5hrs, lugging all this gear around?" Then I get into the water and I think "yes, it is." A lot of people like diving in warm water like in australia, but IMO, cold water is underrated. It's not as colorful, but the kelp forest is actually an amazing place.
