yes CB, KS, NOR, EH, MB, BD,MM, BoBo, and everyone else who is into Harris stuff who resides here, here's one I actually NEVER had on the old forum site, because I never did it !!!
Of all the fast and furious old Maiden songs to forget, well.. I AM OLD and altzheimer's is not the culprit...it is the massive amount of short term memory loss from "D***S"
ALTHOUGH TB'ers would argue about it, I don't NEED a Fender to reproduce his signature playing style
Steve would probably have a heart attack, or be impressed that I play all HIS lines upside down...
AND MARTIN NO "HEY MIKE YOU SHOULD HAVE USED THE JACKSON" REMARKS

Awesome job, Mike! Definitely one of my favorite Iron Maiden tunes!
I also used to love playing that one when I was in the Iron Maiden tribute Children Of The Damned. That one, Run To The Hills, The Trooper, 22 Acacia Avenue, and Rime Of The Ancient Mariner.
Any chance we could hear your take on Rime Of The Ancient Mariner, Mike?

oh god Eric, PhantomOfTheOpera was long enough...lol, the other jams you said are already in my list, but Rhyme, may be doable, as long as I have lots of spare time to play the creeky ship basslines that are probably 5 minutes just by itself before the song starts back up again...
you got Waterloo, now you want the Mariner..
I wonder what Steve would say about playing his stuff inverted, tuned to DGCF, and played on a non-Fender

Oh, boo-frickin'-hoo!
You're a pro, Mike. I know you can handle it. And yes, Waterloo, Mariner...I want it all!
While you're at it, Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Johan Sebastian Bach, please.
And I think Steve Harris would be honored, and blown away, by your presentation of his music.

the handle it part is never the question when it comes to old Maiden, and as to him being honored, with the 1000's of people he has seen redo his stuff amateur or pro, ya he'd remember that bassplayer who played inverted.
and the sticking the tongue out smiley is not in the box, so pretend it is right here where the XXXX's are ok?
you know recording this interrupted "operation repo" on tru TV.

And only one "oops" moment that I could see! I think it was right around 4:20...which I would expect coming from you, Mike! LOL! I made a funny without even trying!
Great job as always, Bro! Looking forward to parts 2 through...um...57!
And don't these count as sticking-the-tongue-out smileys?

in all the time I have been on the old and this board Eric. I don't think I ever asked you.........
do you use alternative tunings beyond EADG?

HEY MIKE!! You shoulda used the Jacks....oh...
I love it, man! For some reason, I stopped getting the email notifications of posts here. So that's why I'm a little out of it lately.
Damn...I need to get a cover up on YouTube. Something that is easy that I can still screw up and look like a retard. Maybe Crimson Glory. Maybe Running Wild. Maybe Judas Priest like amimbari seems to want me to do. Or maybe something that isn't cheeseball 80s cockrock. For once.

That's OK, Mike. Now you have. Feel better?
JUST KIDDING!
Honestly, the only thing I have ever done is detune my E down to a D. Other than that, I haven't ever played with alternate tunings at all. This gets back to the limits of my musical knowledge. I simply do not possess enough fluency with regards to scales and such to be able to do such a thing. You, on the other hand, command a superior knowledge of scale patterns that allows you to play inverted, normally, and in alternate tunings. If I tried such a thing, I would quickly get lost. I'm just not that smart.
Hell, I can't even play a fiver! My hands and brain want to ride the B as if it were the E, then I try to change up to playing the E, but my brain screams "no, you idiot! That's the A string!" But of course, it isn't the A string, and yet, I can't overcome that.
Sure, I think I'm pretty good at what I know how to do, but a lot of it is based upon the old formula of four strings tuned EADG. And I already have so much going on with my tone and playing style to begin with that I simply don't have the mental bandwidth to complicate things any more than they already are, plus the fact that when I perform, I am usually running around the whole stage like an idiot, crawling across the floor of the bar, all while being at least a little bit tipsy. It might sound like a lame cop-out, but it's the truth. I think I know my strengths, but I am also very aware of my weaknesses. I don't know it all, and never will. But the thing is that I genuinely enjoy doing what I do in the way that I do it, and as long as it works for me, I won't change it.

welcome back Martin.
and EH, a simple "no I stick with EADG" would have worked, but since you spelled it all out......
your right about me, and your right about you
^^^^^ that's a simple answer, and so general, it can cover the next 50 questions
as far as the 5 string thing, my Dillion has good spacing and neck feel, but it totally is junk with the tone compared to my...as you put it "sig. sound", and even with the B on the bottom for me, it takes quite a few minutes to remember it is a B and not the E, cause I do the same thing.. my brain remembers 4 string orientation much easier since it has always been my mainline playing the 4 stringers.
I bid on another axe Martin, a white 4b, if I get it cheap enough I'll show it off. it is rough, and I didn't bid a lot, so if I win I do, if not I don't. The White 3b on there now someone else can have it. That blue concert CMG in blue with the cracked body is a candidate for buying just for the neck and electronics, so who knows and that beautiful "burgandyMist", as the sellers says "champagne" colored one is too high already for me to consider it ( plus it IS an ugly color IMO ).... and finally, that sparkle green TBX that the guy re-listed now after a whole bunch of months passed when he supposedly pulled the auction the first time as "item was not available for sale" the first time around, I told my friends who like em, and they can have it.

ya yet another ugly sparkle green one. I told a few people especially Andre' over in Germany, he may buy it thru his USA friend like he did with that C/S kahlerBird. once again it gives me the opportunity to see the current "market value" of mine...
that hamer is up to 202, but 3 days still to go so we will see if your prediction of close to 500 comes true.

And this sort of thing does my older metal heart good. To know that the music I, and many of us here, grew up on is still being appreciated is really amazing to me.

Dude I would totally buy that sparkle green one! Even if it is a pretty gross color. I hope Andre get's that thing, man.
So that's how many TBXs in 16 years of looking?
I'm curious about that Blitz. I want to know if the price tag on mine was an outstanding sum or if people will pay that much across the board.

how many TBX's out there Martin?
6 now I think. andres 2, a blue one, mine, another JCF's black one, this green one.
maybe by 2030 when the thing is over 35 years old ( If I live that long ), it may be worth a lot more..as it is now a grand or 2 at the most.... that green one will hopefully bring at least 1100-1200 before it is over.
it IS UGLY, and I'll bet that just turns too many people away from buying it regardless of what it is.

Huh. A blue TBX? Could go either way for me...
I kinda like it, but sparkle green and the black pickguard is a little too much for me. Of course, I prefer the black any day. Black is just a great color for an instrument to be, I think.

it is a mirror pickguard someone added, it looks black, but I asked the seller since I'm the one who told him what he had.....the blue they painted with back then is midnight blue...very dark.
