| Hello fellow bass players! I am so happy I found your website. I do have a question about a Kahler 4-string tremolo that I have owned for eternity! Long story short, my friends used to work at Washburn, which is local, and always seemed to come across interesting prototypes and assorted hardware (especially when NAMM was in Chicago back then). We built a bass monstrosity with good intent and parts, but it was so heavy and unwieldy we dubbed it "The Mothership")))))). Anyway, I salvaged the Kahler, and am trying to determine if it is indeed a 2410 (later model I think). Yes, my ultimate goal is to sell it, as I do not have the skill to properly exploit it's tremendous capabilities. I own a Fender Stu Hamm Urge American-built beauty, and believe me, it is enough for me! Perhaps someone could help me identify this Kahler tremolo and it's value?
Thank you so much!

| Hey rick and welcome to the forum.
Best way for us to identify it is to post pictures of it. Use the buttons on the top of the editor to the left of the you tube logo ... one is for hosting and one posting.
Shoot ... one of us might buy it off you.

| I'd say that you do indeed have an older 2410 there, BVB. The fact that there is no actual patent number is one clue. The second is the little stop-screw that comes out the bottom of the cam to set how far back the cam returns.
But Amimbari is right. We would need to see the bottom of the unit to be sure, although you could also answer the question we have in mind. Does this unit have three springs, or only two? If the answer is two, then I'd say with almost no doubt that you have an original 2410.

| Thanx, friends! It does indeed have 3 springs on the back, as well as the little adjustable stop-screw on the cam. Here is a pic..... My ultimate goal is to sell this baby to a good home-I realize that is a different location in your forum-but in respect to all, I was wondering what a fair price might be? Thanx-Rick | |

| used pricing is a hard thing to predict. I bought my chrome one for a little less than 80 bucks. I bought my 2400 for 100. I bought my 7410 for 115. A new one is from 160-180.
too many variables to have a "set" price.

| Agreed. Given the fact that this unit has the non-adjustable (meaning, side-to-side) cam string anchors, you might fetch somewhere between $80 to $100 for it. It is a beauty of a historic piece! | |

| Yes, and thank you. I did notice this lack of adjustable string anchors compared to later models! I appreciate all of the accurate info and feedback you all and your website have provided me...............Rock on!
Thanx again.........Rick
