The Noob is back! Empty
PostSubject: The Noob is back!   The Noob is back! EmptyTue Feb 08, 2011 1:54 pm

A lot of things have happened since the last time I was a regular here. I had to sell a lot of gear and other things just to survive eating pasta and peanut butter toasts. But hey, life can't always be a pot of rose! I also stopped the college because of various reason including extreme stress and a tendinitis. I now work at Bureau en Gros(Staples) full time where I live for the moment and I'll be heading down to Quebec City in july.

Also, I've never been really decided on what I would do in life except for one thing: I want a business. I've always dreamed of that. I've now buyed Jason Lollar book on winding pickup and let say that it is the first step. I now know what I want to do, and even if it will surely be my ''side job'' it will be my primary objective.

On the gear note, I've acquired a Hartke Hydrive 210c Combo and man it blow out my Genz Benz in every way possible! I'm proud to say that I've finally got an amp I love, my amp! I still got my Epiphone Viola and it will be staying too. I almost had to sell it but I went back on my horse financially before I had to do it.

And I've got 3 more video on the Tube.

That's about it. Have a nice day!

Great t hear from you again, Bro! I wondered what you were up to!

As far as your dreams, I say: go for it. You only get to go through Life once, so make it count while you're here. Besides, I am still anxiously awaiting to see what mad pickup designs you cook up!

I also just got a Hartke amp, only mine is the LH500 head. You may have read my woes after blowing out the voice coil in one of the stock Seismic Audio speakers, and that I came close to doing this again to the replacement Carvin PS15-8's I got, since my cabinet isn't large enough, or tuned, for the Carvin's. But my guitarist Andy cut out a port which seems to be helping, and MadMike posted some beautiful plans for an awesome 2x15 cabinet that I want to try soon.

Anyways, great to have you back, Bro! Wink

Welcome back.

If you want to run you own business ...DO IT NOW! Your 20. If you invest all you can, when you can and stay focused you can get there.

I've finally got started refurbishing and hot ridding basses. I got fired by another boss who just took advantage of me for being dedicated ... again. I wish I started being and staying focused on my own business when I was your age. I will probably have to work for someone else again ... but its not gonna stay that way.

hmm, what's changed over here?

nothing Razz

MAdMike is going to restore one of my guitars if I can ever get the thing in the mail AND pay him for it. I'm already a week late but like most money issues, the excitement of a new axe and the money timing are critical Sad

considering I just spent 300 on 2 basses and a nice SKB case, I'm just at a pause until I get paid next tuesday.
this purple/pink one is going to get sold because it's righthanded, and I paid 100 for the unit AND case which will be used for the white one below which I should have friday.
The Noob is back! P1010371-1

this one was double that but a lefty I can actually use on stage and it's white, and it will get preamped because these model 700st's are T/T/V

so ya @ noob, I did have some changes to my lineup, bought more lefty's sold a few righty's, but not any changes in my life...lol

Yeah Mike, If you want to sell a PJ righty, I'm in the bussiness. I'll have some test to do with P and J pickup soon.

By the way I received Jason Lollar book on winding pickup(building a pickup winder) and it's very helpfull!

I'll let you know for sure! But for the moment I'll be on a run of 20 P and 30 J. I'm ordering All the material for the pickups before starting to build the winding machine.

Also, I am only buying from Canadian merch to build the pickups(with the exception of the Lollar book).

It's because it takes too much energy to move around that much at this age! Laughing

ROTFLMAO!!!!

The world is simply not the same without George Carlin. I remember watching Live At Carnegie Hall way back in the 80's, and I literally had to leave to room several times to catch my breath since I was laughing so hard! Laughing

George got thrown out of LaSalle high school as a youth.

Later ... the christian brothers threw me out of LaSalle too.

It was good to follow in his footsteps and keep up the good irish tradition.
