Settled into my new job.

The painting and rennovations in the living room and dining room are done.

All I need for the wedding is a tie.

So I got back to work on the basses tonight.

I got the ironbird ruff to fine sanded. I had to re stain the neck. Its ready for primer / sealer.

I dissasembled the yamaha. Ill sand out the eurethane that dripped on it and Refinish it in the next few weeks.

The washburn bantam is next.

Then I need to find another trem project.

should I send the neck with the separated FB to you at the end of the month or wait till somewhere in Sept?

I didn't get my big bonus for this month, and the new band is not gigging steady until after Sept, then my tbird project may be possible..but for now, nope just some parts spread all over the house...lol

Actually, if we could wait ....

We're having a wedding in sept, honeymoon in oct, still trying to get the house liveable, mad hours on the new job and anything I do that's not deemed "productive" (like working on basses, practice or watching the phillies game) gets amy hysterical.

I guess I am getting married soon ... seems like already.

no big deal Mike, it's not like I need to use it next week.. or for that matter....next year. It's not going to get used for the tbird project.. I already have a lefty neck for that one, just another bass to add to the collection or to sell since I got it so cheap I don't care if it sits another 6 months..

I think you should do MM. Is it comfortable to play?

no...... put a regular guitar style HB in there. That way you have a common platform to try a bunch of different pickups if you choose to "play".

Its not comfortable to play. Its got a wide neck. Its neck heavy. Its has no contour cutaways. Its extremely pointy ... dangerous for bandmates.

Its much better to play since I put a new truss in, leveled the frets and dropped the action / string / bridge heigth. It still needs a good setup ... after paint and rebuild.

I'm inclined to go with a Music Man pickup because of the size. It can easily cover up the P pickup route and it'll sound great in that position. It'd look ugly to have a plate to cover up the excess. Unless you want to make a cool pickguard. That'd look neat.

I used to be very interested in BC Riches. Then I tried playing them.

Yeah, the split humbucker hole ... a mm would fill it up. That's what I was thinking.

I think I want the Tesla one but I gotta find the right preamp.
