Or post again about the endless supply of CL drummers that either don't show up or show up and make me laugh?

i'm always wondering what happend to Martin chowderboots. the last thing he PM'ed me a month ago was how much should he sell his kelly for, but he has not posted in a thread for a long long time.
the Daytona I use in the summer and HAVE to use until my honda gets rebuilt needed some work done to it...UGH, more money than I thought. to the tune of:
replace the window regulator so the power window will work, oil change, replace all rubber fuellines/filter and check injector rail pressure, and the biggie replace the fuelpump assembly IN the friggen tank.
530.00. in the grand scheme of things that is normal for all the labor and parts, but geez....just another MARCH disaster..
fortunately, March is over and April is tomorrow.
and as they say "I hope it's over"
and for April I found a LEFTY JACKSON FUTURA on ebay, and the guy was cool, chatted a bit and dropped the price he had from 350 to 285+ship, so I bought it. ( NOT the 5stringer they made and nobody has ever seen before ) -- in fact this will be the first lefty futura I ever saw )
Now comes the fun part.
I need to sell off my Kramer 710 pink righty, sell the Ibanex SR300 lefty. ( I may just sell off the pink lefty charvel, because I'll probably never use or need it ), I just keep it around for the neck --uh, just in case..... I see that Mike listed his PXR again, and well...good luck Mike hope it goes this time 200 less than you had it listed for before it sells.

Well, I'ts been a while I didn't post about me. So I've stopped studying Music because I wasn't even sure what I would do. So I now work at Staples Canada for 9,50$/hour and I kinda like the job. Tough it's not really satisfying my appeal. I'm gonna go back in Ontario again for the 3rd year this year. I'll get there in mid June and get back in mid October to live in Quebec City with my sister.
Gear wise, I only have my Epiphone Viola(wich is now fretless) and I also acquired a Big Muff and a Hartke 2 10 combo.
Also, it's been a week I started to longboard and I just purchase a helmet... security first you know. I've fallen one time on a hill and said to myself it was one that I didn't had any protection. So I'ts been 2 days I' didn't skated.
So, bye! I'm gonna go try my helmet!

man, I'm getting more and more reports of people who are stuck working for less pay, out of work, or getting ready to be laid off by June 1st like 2008.
WTF is going on in this country again???

Its been two years of doing this, it's my own company, so I could fire myself?
It's been tough for everyone I know. I just had a old friend call me begging for a job. He's recently divorced with four kids. His wife had mental issues, got into drugs & just spiralled down. He got custody.
On the bright side things are slowly picking up from what I can see. My friend finally got a job after 1 1/2 years of no job.

These are general statements ......
Americans don't make anything anymore. Anything that was quality, has been outsourced overseas and isn't quality anymore. This has become the affordable standard.
There is still some american quality left, but everything else that goes into it and the cost of living has gotten so expensive, that the quality has gotten so expensive that its just not worth it.
My prices keep dropping, and its still more expensive than meadiocre mass produced chinese crap.
Want to make it better?
Stop buying crap.

I totally agree until the 5,438,912 others say **** you, and buy a Korean/Chinese instrument for 1/100th of the price of a USA.
starting a boycott is easy, getting people to adhere to it is impossible. ( I was fired from a job just for that reason )
I'll explain in short detail:
I worked as a tech in a repair company, the people assigned to specific workstations were no good, I complained. It did nothing. I asked all the other employees to back me up, they said sure get's go....until the day I confronted the bosses about our situation...when I said I had the support of all the other employees, they pulled everyone in and NONE, I MEAN NON OF THEM SPOKE UP. They fired me on the spot for me trying to start a mutiny. I went to jail for the assult on the 2 employees that were "ya mike i got your back", and never talked to them again --- 350.00 in court costs, lost my job, no unemployment...
all because of those as**holes who said yes we will follow you.
same thing for musical gear, you get a million people to stop buying 100.00 rondo gear, you may have a point...until then forget about it.

I Buy things entirely based on quality, My agile interceptor 625 was made in south korea and is of exceptional quality. If I found an american guitar with the same kind of quality/price ratio I would have no doubt bought it as well. But it's worth noting that the korean made Interceptor 727 is still my favourite 7 string, after trying some 5K Ibanez Universes and some other expensive american guitars.
On other things, school work is driving me crazy but I'm still finding time to work on my current passion. Which is orchestral scoring. This is about my second or third test of Orchestral stuff and i'm getting there but I'm not quite at the location. I do blame a lot of that on myself but there is also the facts of the matter. The Vienna symphonic library samples that come with Kontakt 4 were recorded dry in a recording studio, there is no "natural" reverberation and colouring from a hall. Hence they sound different, far "sharper" than they should. If I had a spare 500 to blow out on a spatial designer/convolution reverb like Altiverb that actually colours the sound based on Impulse response files (and you can just drag around where you want instruments to sit, it's impressive as hell) I could achieve a more "natural" sound. However I'm happy enough with this as it is, I can't do much more without getting a nicer computer. This track 99%'s my computers processing activity and cannot run in real time.

It shows some tuffness to stand for something these days mike, but don't do it unless you already expect to be standing alone.

True, it has gotten a bit slow around here. But honestly Guys, the whole point of this place is to provide information to those that need it. The social aspect of it is simply icing on the cake, and I absolutely love having this. Folks may come and go, but as long as people get the information they need, that's the important thing.
No matter what else, I'm not going anywhere.

Maybe one day when I can afford to have this place hosted on a real site, we could create an app for it.

In the meantime, the regular droid browser works ok. Just can't post links and pictures.
I sent that new guy some specs, measurements and directions for an install ... anyone hear from him?

Well, I'm not complaining, but I did my sales tax report last month and had to finally confront my 2010 numbers that I knew would be disappointing. Revenues down 35%... Another year like that and I'm going to have to get a 'real' job... The freelance market in Quebec is in a rut...
If you want some spiritual revelations and a good book and a music oriented read, I suggest Wooten's 'The music lesson'... hard to stomach for some - but I found it interesting...
