this thing is a plywood sandwich! i've seen ply bodies before and they are 8 or 10 plys ... this is like 16!

a korean sandwich.

furreal mike ... this body is in good shape ... all the dings, scratches and rash sanded out. if i primer it correctly, the plys will be invisible and the finish will be real smooth. routing starts tomorrow. paint by the end of the week.

here in the philadelphia ... the local popular sandwich is a cheezesteak. what is it in your neighborhood?

Man....I wish we could get a decent Philly cheesesteak here in Washington, but I've yet to find one.

We do have some awesome Italian places nearby, as well as some really great Mexican places.

yeah ... i wish people visiting philadelphia can get a good cheesesteak too ... but the best one in town (tony - luke's) is hidden in south philly under i-95. tourists go to jims on south street or ginos off passyunk ... yuk. at least tony luke has a store in the phillies ballpark. its still ballpark food tho.

living in the suburbs it totally different ... we have a joey yo steak out here in phoenixville ... joey's is awesome.

having done a few of these, i've gotten better at it.

paint stripper doesnt really work on lacquer the way it works on latex or urethane. it doesnt bubble it up from the bottom, so you strip off a layer ... and theres another layer underneath. strip another layer ... another underneath. before you know it, you just went thru 1/2 gallon of stripper and your still not done.

solution. stripper ... and go do something else. ignore it. forget about it.

later when you realize it had dried on there ... slap some more stripper on and go to bed.

tomorrow ... scrape it, hit it with a wire brush, hit it with some 80 grit real quick (so the stripper can get in there) then repeat above.

and again.

and again. keep letting it dry on there.

then on day 4 or 5, when you hit it with the 80, you should be getting to the wood (or in this case .... the sandwich). switch to 100 grit so you dont gouge the wood and go with the grain and get the rest of the paint off.

i hit the wood this morning (the sandwich), then it took me 2 hours with the 100 grit. now i just gotta work on the detail spots. much easier than all that stripper applications and scraping the gooey stuff off each time. when it dries and i just scrape it off, then i just brush it in the trashcan.

and 16ply, man they made it that way for tonewood reproduction? ya right hahaha
I am just looking at the non-black and oh boy will that thing look nice in white since your pic fuzzy's it up and it looks whitish now

dont know if that looks fuzzy because its a phone picture ... or thats how much sawdust is flying around.

Yes but we have harsher rules on pornography and violent video games. It's actually illegal to sell porn that contains women with small breasts. Nobody really complained though.
