| Long story short. Andy called me and said that since he modified his custom eight-string to a seven, the custom pickup in it doesn't line up properly anymore. And since he gets a discount on EMG's from his working with Zakk Wylde, he can get me the exact same active EMG that is in Doug's bass. So he told me that if I order him a couple of Duncan Invader 7's, he will give me the eight-string humbucker, and also order me an EMG. This will mean that my new bass will spec out electronically the same as Doug's bass. Problem solved! I have also decided to go with a black Kahler 7415, so once I have the capital for all of it, I will do the ordering. And after I receive all of it, Andy and I are going to have a routing party in his shop. My new bass arrives on Monday, and I'll have everything else about a week later. I am going to make this new bass a screamin' machine! I will be sure to post pictures once it's all finished. | |
