| I always wanted one of these. Anyone here ever play or own one? The last couple that were on Ebay, years ago, went for around $800? | |

| I once had a Carvin B4, but it didn't have a Kahler until I installed one myself. Actually, here it is: The drummer is my buddy Francois that passed away from cancer in 2002. | |

| I want a V440 bad...really bad. Those look sick. The closest I've gotten is my friend's V220 or whatever the guitar version is. Out of this world, it is. | |

| I remember when the V440's first came out back in the 80's, and I wanted one then. But Carvin has changed so much in the past 20 years, and there isn't really anything they now make that resembles the instruments and amplifiers of old. They used to have a really basic, simple bass preamp that I really wanted to have in pairs back when I first went to using two amps, but sadly, they no longer make those anymore. | |

| Which preamp are you referring to?
I agree. From what I have read, they seem to have taken a very different direction in the early 90s, much as Ibanez did to what they had done in the mid 80s. | |

| Shoot....I can't recall the model number. All I remember is that it was a really simple device. One rack space, pre-gain, bass, para-mid, treble, post gain, and maybe a couple other things. It was simple, clean, and dirt cheap. Which, of course, explains why it isn't available anymore! | |
