| I was able to sell a French horn I laying around, which gave me enough cash to buy one of these babies while they still have this headstock: It's a fretless 30" scale precision copy from Rondo Music. My plans for it so far include: - citrustripping the neck to rid it of that horrid orange color - heating off the maple fretboard and glueing in an unlined ebony fingerboard - swapping out the pickup for a Dimarzio P I have somewhere around here - Replacing the bridge with a cheapo piezo bridge - Build a preamp for the piezo bridge so I can blend the two pickups - Get a new pickguard; right now I'm thinking tort I'm excited for the end result! Just playing it the way it is right now is pretty fun. It really is a tiny thing; here's a picture next to a standard sized stratocaster for comparison: | |

| Dude! that's an Awesome stratocaster!
Also what's with all the new headstock shape hate, it's not perfect but it's not hideous. it's certainly not turning me off (i'm going to reshape it so it's pointier!)

| Thanks! I built that strat myself out of the leftover offcuts from my classmates at lutherie school; hence the loving title "scrapocaster."
As far as the headstock goes. I don't hate the new one, but the one that mine has just looks more Fender-esque to me. If I'm going to get a Fender styled bass I'd like it to resemble a Fender headstock rather than look like a Laguna (although, it's quite possibly made in the same factory as the Lagunas!). It's all personal preference, some like it some don't. Shoot though, for $90 I'd be content with the new headstock; hard to complain when they're so dang cheap!

I wish I could ship you the white one you want so you can have a pointy headstock template to go off of.... honestly the ship charge would be very high, probably as much as the bass itself. and YVARG, that pieced together body is really cool. If only I had the tools and time to do something with all the parts I have accumulated!!!

In any case, if i feel the urge i'm going to make it spikier either way, Coz manowar is made of steel not clay! sorry i've been listening to manowar recently... i really don't know why.

| Oh yeah spiky all the way, but there isn't enough wood in the right places to make a Charvel headstock. You might be able to get something like the Ibanez RG headstock out of it, though. They are pretty slim. | |

I might have a shot at carving the section under the tuner's in a semi-cricle-ish thing. But knowing me i'd F*** it up, so i'm going to follow the classic K.I.S.S formula and Do it as simply as possible. I'll probably paint it black when i'm done to avoid refinishing it. This is if i ever bother lol.
