So a few weeks ago I took part in the 48 Hour Film Festival. For those of you not familiar with the it (which is probably all of you), you're given a genre, a character name and an occupation, and a line of dialogue. As you can guess, it is utter insanity. Usually you write Friday night, film Saturday, and edit Saturday night and Sunday morning. My school has a team, and we've participated in the last 2. I consider myself lucky. As an editor, you ALWAYS pull an all nighter. Most teams have 1 or 2 people editing together. We have 4, and each of us works in hour long shifts between 10PM and 6AM.
We got Foreign film, Zach or Zelda Alexander (an exterminator) and the line "Tell me again why any of this matters?"
I did editing, most of the boom mic work, lighting in one of the scenes, and bass on one of the tracks (we always do our own soundtrack).
Heres the film:
At every screening, the audiance votes for their favorite movie. We won the audiance choice award. We've also been nominated for at least 2 other awards. The awards ceremony is tomorrow, really excited.

"I like men now."
Actually, that was quite entertaining, in a surreal sort of way!
So does the title refer to San Jose CA?

Crazy, man! That's sweet that you can go that deep into AV and film at your school.

Ya. We wanted to do the SF one, but it was the weekend after final exams, so we decided to do this one instead

very very well done KS. It is refreshing to see someone else put "their" work in here, even if it is not a music video.
So I went to the awards ceremony last night. We won 3 awards in total. Best Ensemble Cast, the audience choice award, of course, and the quite unexpected Producers Choice Award for Most Promising Breakout Group (because we're all so young- just a bunch of 17 year olds competing against adult pros and semi pros). I'm happy.
