Nice!! I love Frankie Valli! We've cranked Jersey Boys to entertain us through many a light hang at work.

that emg select was a tight fit into the hole, and i had to get the dremmel out and smooth the hole so it would go in...very weird since the OEM came right out, but this thing sounds WAY BETTER now....good enough that I am gonna use it for practice on Friday night once I throw a strap pin on the plate and get the strap out of the way.
so yep, 110 for the axe, 66 cents for the strings, and a nice emg p-pickup out of the parts bin. BTW, the emg selects are MIK unless you already knew that.
AND, I'm gonna weigh this thing, as it "feels" at LEAST if not slightly heavier than the model2 with the kahler in it, which makes no sense.
I'll report back when I get the weights of all 3, this one, the kahlered one and the white one, because this unit is noticeably heavier than the white one, and they are all model2's.

Huh...that's great! Maybe the weight has something to do with the tone?

it MAY "may" being the keyword here, that in 86 only they used a different wood for the body leftover from something else...or this one got some heavy-metal-playing wood from who knows what stock they may have cut the body out of.
I also did some research and 86 was not the only year for the reversed-p, they did that on a couple years before 86, like 82-83 I think, but 86 was the only "model series" made with the reverse -p, as well as all the charvettes which were NON reverse-p (cough cough).

Well, that doesn't make anything any simpler, does it? hahaha
Such a cool series of guitars, but they have such a damn complicated history.

"Or something like that!"
I have to admit that I also like Frankie Valli. His music transports me back to when I was but a little lad.
Again, great cover, Mike! You really highlighted just how intricate and defining that bass line is! And kudos for putting in that EMG! That bass sounds phenomenal!

perhaps somewhere in the thousands of shows they did the bassline changed but your right a very interesting bassline in this version.
the laughter out of this was since the strings are inverted, it was easier to stroke the octaves (octave/5th/root) sweeps with a pick ---hahaha

You know, Mike? It really does amaze me how innovative you are with the way that you play bass. The fact that you can do all of these odd tunings with the bass flipped, and play so fluently. It really does impress me!

playing solely by ear can have it's advantages. I never think of strings as "a tuned set in some pre arranged pattern". Yes it makes it easy to remember, but it cuts out the challenge...music ( or anything ) is only fun if it keeps you interested, once that goes away, you tend to stop playing cause your bored.
doing songs I have heard for years "can" be boring unless I do anything to make them seem different. If playing the same song on different fret positions or patterns fools me into thinking it is something else...all the better.
