I think we had a thread on this in the last BTF forum, but I made a new one because I wanted to discuss my horrifying realization that I really, really like Cheap Trick.

Oh, DUDE! That is far from a guilty pleasure!
Cheap Trick was one of the first true rock bands I really got into. I had asked for the tape of In Color, and it is still one of my favorite albums of all time. And I used to cover Surrender in a band In was in years ago, and it was one of my favorite songs to play:
And not least of all, bassist Tom Petersson was the first player I ever saw wield a twelver. He gets an enormous sound from his bass!

Oh yeah! An since we are re-heating the guilty pleasure thread here, I'll throw one of mine out there. Anyone ever heard of the band Sweet?
Action:
Fox On The Run:
Ballroom Blitz:
Awesome stuff!

My guilty pleasure is definitely low-key, often cheesy electronic music. And very rarely, some synthpop.

cheezy electronica and synth pop? well, for me ... thats one of two.
i'm really into shirley manson and garbage.
i also dig throwing in a w.a.s.p. cd from time to time ... blackie's shrieking vocals are cool. so 80's metal ... "at the altar of rock and roll you'll kneel!" ... i can only listen once or i cant take it seriously. drop that line into one of your songs and see if anyone takes you seriously.

I love WASP! And Running Wild...and Manowar!! I don't mind Journey from time to time. Cheap Trick I always liked as well. I always really enjoyed the Moody Blues a lot as well.
Sweet sounds pretty aweseome, Eric!
Actually, I'm not ashamed of listening to Running Wild and loving it at all. I stand by Rock 'n' Rolf 'til the day I die!
The hokey English just makes it that much more awesome! "Lost the money, lost the job, being catched by the cop"...so angsty but so badass. hahaha

Oh, no-no-no, I most certainly did not! Love Is Like Oxygen is also one of my favorites! I just didn't want to overload everyone here too badly all at once.

And I do seem to recall that you had posted that one already, and again, it's an awesome jam!

Alright...I've said it before, and I'll say it again. As far as guilty pleasures go:
I AM A DIEHARD ABBA FAN!!!
There...I said it again.
In fact...oh alright...since you guys are my brothers here, and I feel like I can tell you just about anything, I actually got tears in my eyes when I saw on YouTube the video of the premier of the ABBA movie Mamma Mia in Sweden, and for the first time in who knows how many years, Benny, Bjorn, Agnetha, and Anni-Frid all stood together at a balcony overlooking the crowd. And my brain was literally screaming "REUNION!!!" But they have all said that it will never happen, as they are all content to be doing their own things.
And OK...since I'm digging myself into an eternal pit of embarrassment here...the other night, Linda and I got into a bottle of wine, and spun a whole bunch of old ABBA tunes...and again, the tears fell.
You have to understand that, not only do I genuinely love the music they made, but they were also the very first band I ever got into. So hearing that music takes me back to when I was five years old, and I get an incredible wash of wonderful memories associated with those times.
So there.
Mock me if you must.
PFFFTTT!!!
