| This is the exact pickup that Billy Sheehan uses in the neck position of his basses for his low/clean channel. The Model One is a high-output pickup designed as an improved version of the classic Gibson EB series. | |

| They are awesome, I'm dying to have an opportunity to try one out.
Eric, the normal Model One was in Billy's "the wife" bass, but the rest are the modified Will Power model, with wider string spacing, and an adjusted output.

| My mom's electric upright has one in it. Doesn't work well in there (put right by the bridge, where the pole pieces don't line up with the strings. It's super clean, but that might be because it isn't operating to its full potential. | |

| Actually Bill, the pickup in Billy's "Wife" bass is a true Gibson EB-0: | |

| Oh snap! You're dead right.
Which begs the question, when did he change to the Willpower model, with the Yamaha sig?

| If I recall correctly, he first used the Model One in his pink custom bass that Yamaha made for him. Then he went to the Willpowers with his signature line of basses. | |

| oh my goodness ... look at that wife bass!! i think he's been playing it a little bit!
i really want to set up a bass this way some day. it just seems like it would have far more unique sounds and options for sound just simply from the pickups and their placement.

| Agreed, man. Plus the pickups wired in stereo. I assume that he has a volume knob for each pickup and a treble knob for one of them? And that mini switch...I wonder if that's coil tap or a kill switch or mono/stereo switching.... | |

| From what I understand, Billy has officially retired his Wife bass since it is literally falling apart. And he uses the rear control as the volume for the split P, the other two as volume and tone controls for the EB-0/Model One, and the switch is a bright switch for the EB-0/Model One. | |

| The bright switch is connected to a capacitor that acts as a quick tonal switch to either brighten or deepen the sound coming from the EB-0/Model One. | |
