| My guitarist Andy Beech has finally decided to make his guitar making into a true company. He has enlisted the help of myself, along with some of our good friends. The goal is to make D'Haitre' Guitars into the next big thing, and we've already got the backing of a lot of great people. But we need your help as well! PLEASE take a moment to vote YES for funding for us! It will cost you nothing but a few seconds of your time. My role will be to help develop a line of custom basses, as well as development of our own line of bass pickups. Naturally, we are going to offer Kahlers as an option. I am really excited and overwhelmed to have this opportunity to make bass guitar development into my full-time occupation! More details to follow soon! PLEASE take 5 seconds TOPS to go to https://www.missionmainstreetgrants.com/search and enter Dhaitre Woodworks or by zip 98248. No registering required. Would be extra cool if you'd like D'Haitre Guitar facebook page too! THANK YOU!!! | |

| Thanks Guys! We passed the first round, and we are in an excellent position to go all the way. It's exciting and terrifying all at the same time, but we have faith that we can make D'Haitre' Guitars a major force to be reckoned with. | |

| Cool, you guys got enough votes to be considered. Good luck, I would love to design/build guitars all day rather than put batteries in for people in the sleet at an auto parts store.... Oh, and the basses he built for you(you guys built ) are sweet. I bet they play awesome! -Jake By the way, you mentioned on the pictures of that bass that you finally got to design a locking nut for bass? Pictures, specifics, availability? | |

| Thanks, Jake! We'll know how we did in early January. Keep your fingers crossed! My basses are literally the best I have ever owned. I can't say enough about them! Pictures of my toplock, you say? The nut material is brass, and the inserts are zinc. Andy literally hand-milled this thing, and it works perfectly. We are still messing with developing a fine tuning bridge, since I still have to juggle with the tuning before final clamping to get everything balanced (guitarists might recall the original Floyd Rose units had this issue, since they did not have fine tuners on the bridge). But once it's set, it won't go out of tune at all, and I can drop the strings to where they hang off the neck. | |

| So, is that effectively the same as a floyd unit missing a couple holes then? Honestly it looks a bit like the strings are sitting on a zero fret. May just be the picture angle though, not sure. Doesn't look too terribly complex from a machining standpoint. | |

| You could say that it's like it has a zero fret, just as a Floyd Rose guitar nut has. It really wasn't hard for Andy to make. Heck, I think he cranked it out in his shop in less than an hour. | |

| What would Andy charge to do that to my bass? I'm just outside Vancouver so we are pretty much neighbors, neighbors with a line separating us haha but maybe one day a trip to the states with my bass is in order. | |

| Well, heck! I didn't realize we were so close, Al! My wife and I live in Birch Bay, which is the southern portion of Blaine. We're less than an hour from each other. We should get together at some point! Andy is out of town for Thanksgiving, but I'll ask him when he gets back. | |

| We should! I'd love to steal some licks from you hahaha. I've got a mail box I go to in Blaine sometimes to save money on import fees. Maybe next time I get something from there we could arrange something? | |

| You betcha! Steal licks? Heck, I'll just give 'em away. They're not worth too much anyways! | |
