| Tune basses are actually two companies. One owns the rights to use the Tune brand name worldwide excluding Japan, and the other in Japan only. They are still making basses with tremolos. Here is the link http://www.cc.rim.or.jp/~tune/index.html | |

| All they have at the moment is 8, or 10 strings with trems, man that'd be a crazy sound! | |

| Those are all crazy...they look a little like the Jackson Antigravity bass from a while back.
So if I understand correctly, the tremolos are only available in Japan? | |

| I know! I wonder how they feel and if you can get any pull up action on those... | |

| I'm wondering just exactly how the tension mechanism works. Like, does it employ full-sized springs and a claw? Or is it some sort of more compact design like a Kahler is? | |

| Wow! Thanks for clarifying that, Hans! It reminds me of the Double Whammy design in some ways, since the strings are all controlled by different blocks. Here is the picture that Hans included the link for: | |

| and they are priced accordingly...if i remember its about 200,000 yen..about $2000.00 still, they ARE very cool....there was a 6 string with trem up on ebay a few months back but the guy who was selling stated it was not a trem(clearly WAS) and maybe cos he did not have the bar... gear aquisition stndrome is a painful disease! | |

| Ahh TUNE..yes! A friend of mine had one that I played on several gigs in the mid 90s. It was a 4 string, non-trem, and active EQ. It was candy pearl salmon pink! Color aside the thing sounded and played wonderfully. | |
