Anyone ever see or try a Kahler on a short scale (30") bass ?

I think my EB-0 is 2 & 1/8th " total from G to E at the bridge.

I haven't, but I really want to put one on my Ibanez Destroyer, which is 32" scale.

I would think with the lower tension of a short scale or medium scale whammy effects would increase. I know the cam only pivots so much, but it will be like a rubber band.

Yeah, I'd assume so--with the lower tension, you're going to have greater range and easier trem action, but I assume that like using lighter gauge strings with a trem, you'll get more rattle off the frets and you'll have to set the action higher.

Come to think of it, isn't that what a lot of "Texas-style" Strat players attribute to that thick sound they get--high action and thick strings?

With the lower tension you'd more easily get away with two springs too! bounce

I just bought an Epiphone EB-0 as a project bass that has a 2410 on it. The guy that installed it (who sold it to the guy I bought it from) did a hack-job on the rout and it is slightly off-center to the bass side and it divebombs great but raising up on it causes it to rub since the rout isn't deep enough. I'll probably clean those issues up sometime next week, but otherwise right now, it's strung with .045-.105 in standard EADG and other than the rub it works great.

It looks great on the bass, nice to know that it can work.
