PostSubject: obama orthopedics ... finally.   Thu Feb 17, 2011 2:53 pm

You all have heard me boo hop and moan that I don't have health insurance and I've just been living with the pain in my hands.

I finally qualified for the pre-existing illness insurance from the government last month.

And I am finally scheduled for the surgery tomorrow morning. The doc is gonna do all three fingers, both hands all at once.

I shud be down for two days, tops, and shud be back to playing in a week. I shud be 100% in 3 weeks. Ittl be nice to not be in pain while I'm playing and building basses.

ya wrapped up hands and exposed fingers.... typical "let the wife put smiliys on the fingers to help you forget the pain when the drugs are starting to wear off 3 hours before your next doseage"

hope that heals up quickly so if you do find a job you won't have to audition/interview with a handicapp parking space as part of your resume Smile

actually ... the surgeon drew the smiley faces. thats so he knew to cut open the right fingers.

so ... who was on the medication?

furreal, the doc was a real cool guy. he appreciated the fact i'm a musician and if need be, would tailor any physical therapy i may need to suit that. i havent tried to play yet ... perhaps in another 2 or 3 days.

i took tylenol #3's on friday night. saturday night ... they hurt ... but i just wasnt a wuss about it. yesterday ... it was just tuff to get my shoes on. today ... its a little tender, but i dont even have the bandages on. i'm just gonna do things real slow for a few days. the incisions hurt more than anything.

its driving me nutz. the custom and the attitude are just sitting on the workbench, 2/3s done. i'm gonna try to do a little today ... but theres only so much i'll be able to do ... no power tools, no screwdrivers. i hope i can have both of these done by next week sometime.

i cant believe it ......

i just finished 400 sanding the custom.

i just topcoat painted the yamaha.

i guess my hands hurt so bad for so long that some post surgery pain seems minuscule now.

still ... i'm gonna take a long lunchbreak and take care of all this paperwork.

thanks for all your best get well soon wishes ... seems to be working.

Follow the dollar.

Insurance companies, employers and those who may loose some of their government benefits to cover the cost of obamacare are the ones who don't like obamacare.

That and I think people just need to be negatve and have somethin to complain about. It somehow makes them feel like they are better than, smarter or stand for something. I do it too (market flooded by fender parts).

The hands are good. A little stiff still. We're gonna have practice tomorrow.

It is a sad fact that the United States is the only first-world nation left that does not have some form of centralized healthcare. I've said this before, and again, I'll say it until I am blue in the face. We live less than ten miles from Canada, and we have a lot of friends who are Canadian, as well as having the chance to speak with so many others. They literally laugh at us stupid Americans for buying into the anti-hype about central healthcare. Every single one of them I have spoken to has said "it's awesome! It rocks! Don't believe the media's portrayal of how awful it is, because it is the exact opposite". And yet, we are too willing in this country to see it as something sinister or cut-rate. Let me repeat my point. I have heard firsthand from the people who use it that centralized healthcare works, and they wouldn't trade it for anything else. Sure, there are examples of things not always going right, but can anyone here honestly say that our system is better than what they have in Canada?

The simple fact is that if you believe the horror stories, and still believe that the current system is best, then you are being led astray by those that stand to lose money in the process. We are the single greatest power on this planet, yet we still have thousands and thousands who do not have access to healthcare because of the costs involved and there is NO excuse for this. It is a CRIME that we allow these fatcats to continue to line their pockets so heavily on the backs of the common citizen. I've heard all the arguments both for and against, and there is NOTHING anyone can say to me anymore that will convince me otherwise.

Sorry for my little rant, but you Guys have no idea just how much this stupidity pisses me off.

Here here eric! I've always thought the exact same thing. When this issue first came up I was just completely incredulous that there were people actually against it in the first place, these same people would likely be the first to complain if something went wrong with them and they didn't have the money to fix it. I think I remember seeing a protest sign somwhere on the internet that literally said "Don't take away medicare to fund centralised healthcare" or something like that. I was speechless...

I worked my butt off at a job 40+ hours a week for a small company where I'm the only employee who needed health insurance ... so my employer continued to conveinently forgetting about it (and not giving me any compensation for that lack of benefit). I worked in pain for him for 3 years.

Then he gets pisses about the health care reform bill passing. As a business owner, his taxes and insurance premiums will go up to pay for it.

Perhaps he should have just given his employees the proper benefits they (me) deserves in the first place (greedy pr**k).

Then he fired me. ....again ...good riddance. Good ... now he's stuck doing my job and his. Nice move bonehead.

Its just refreshing that eventually, people who behave this way end up paying for it one way or the other. Resiprocity is a bi***.

I am steaming about my old job today. I went to go inquire about another job and the owner wasn't there. I was speaking with the landlord of the building, networking, putting my name out there, etc, and my old job and my boss's name came up. He was meeting him soon about renting him moe shop/ retail space ... and he started asking me questions about him and his business.

Now, I could have bad mouthed him, but I didn't. I just told him the truth ... and I guess that ended up not being too good. What was I suposed to do? Lie?

Anyhow ... I just feel its good that this landlord has a heads up about who my old boss is and im pretty shure my name will come up. Good ... I don't just go away.

So anyway, there is a shift in the way things have been in this country. Those who have had control in this country have killed this country, its economy and are now loosing their control over it. Great ... now we have to clean up the mess.

I can't even get a business loan ... great.
