| I've always loved that tune.
So yesterday was day 1 at my new full time job. Went pretty good. Bench work is tuff; im not used to it, but employer / co-workers are cool and it was good to get in a days work. I am now a SignSource employee. Roadtrip install work today.
Truth is, I was miserable at my last job for a while. Nobody likes to get fired or laid off but the downtime did help me maintain some sanity. Plus ... I built several cool basses with my time.
Wish me luck and we'll see where this job goes.

| our singer just lost his job, JUST had a baby on Thursday, and now wants to ramp-up our gigging schedule to make up the difference.
I hope PXR can always be a part of your life, but like anyone, ya need a steady monthly income that exceeds the bills.

| Yeah, pxr will keep going. It slowed down because I ran out of money to spend on it ... and no sales except for your bass mike.
Now its slow because I gotta work 10hr days and keep fixing the house.
In a few weeks, the ironbird should be done.

| Update .....
The guy "training" me was done friday. He didn't provide too much information. Basic stuff. Once I got a job up and running he realized that he's gonna get a "work free" week. At the end of the week I asked him if there's anything else I should know. He told me no and stated that im probably a better engraver than him.
I already knew this.
Sorry ... ego based in product and numbers.
Today I was doing some simple nose cone increment routing. Things went fine untill I tried to cut through 1/8" plexi with 1/32" aluminum laminated on top. I found out the hard way that the cutters can only cut through 1/8" of material before the tool flares out to the shaft .... grind, grind, grind. Oops.
I need 1/16" dia end mills and a chuck.
I need to learn more about the software so I can do cnc controlled z axis increments for each pass so I don't have to ride on a nose cone and can router kahler pockets, pickup spaces and electronic cavities.
Of course, pick guards are a piece of cake as well as tr covers and cnc vinyl logos.
As well as ... I really like producing great looking signs for our customers.
I like my new job! | |

| Ehh ... not really new. I did engraving and sign making before.
Im just really excited to have access to cnc machinery.
Went up to another sign company we subcontract work out to. Their table is 12 x 24 feet. Dood was standing on the table prying up prices he machined earlier while the tool was cutting out 2 guitar bodies on the other end ... cool!

| Im gonna have em do either a Carvin v440 or charvel star design (because both are discontinued and impossible to get) to see what their work is like and how much ittl cost.
Then ill see if they want the business.
