| After a lot of creative financing, along with some successful eBay auctions, I finally had enough for a new bass, and ordered the Davison fiver after reading so many glowing reviews about them. $167 with free shipping:  Alder body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, Schaller-style tuning keys, and black hardware. Since I am going to throw in new pickups, and a trem, the electronics and bridge don't matter. It should arrive be the end of this week!  | |

not the chrome trem, it's still on ebay not sold yet...why don't you use that thing for the trem on the Davison? I got my black one installed on my bass, and the gold one is now a spare...you wanna trade chrome for gold? | |

I got my black one installed on my bass, and the gold one is now a spare...you wanna trade chrome for gold? The successful auctions so far have raised money for the bass itself. If my future auctions are successful, that will be the pickups and trem. And remember Mike, my new bass is a five-string, but my Kahler is a four-string. Hence, it won't work. And I want it in black this time. | |

| oh ya duh....I thought you might have a use for another bass that should look better with a gold one....well I only paid 100 bucks for it, so I'll keep it around for a bit, and when I'm ready to sell it, I'll ask here first, then toss it on ebay like you did  | |

| I always wondered if they angled the pups for cosmetic purposes because the difference in a 1/8 inch of where the poles hit the string HAVE to be an un-noticeable tone difference.
I know the p-pups in the charvels that are reverse compared to the normal-p do nothing that my bright-arsed GR strings can sonically tell me. ( at least with my 50 year old eardrums and 1/4 deafness from 25 years of drummers symbols ) --- hahahaha | |
