bill is double planet. we've played gigs with them before. pretty awesome!

bill called me yesterday and told me double planet members are going their separate ways. even tho double planet is his, and will reconvien in some shape and form at a later date .........

he asked me if we found vocals, and even if we did, was there a spot for him to play guitar with us.

i peed my pants a little.

"no bill, no vocals as of yet and we'de be lucky to have you."

we start re working, re writing and writing in 2 weeks. 40wattsun will definately change. truth is ... it needs to. i been playing the same stuff for 7 years now and dom and i are having writers block ... new blood will push and pull us in directions we wouldnt have gone on our own ... plus all the stuff that he has banked or hasnt come up with yet.

vocals ... holy crap! it like christmas.

chek out the double planet and lemme know what you guys think.

WOW! Shocked I totally dig it! It reminds me of early Black Sabbath in some ways. Cool deal!

Very cool, I love the awkward drum intro in "three lions". Very Hawkwind like.

Great observation, BD! You're totally right. There are some Hawkwind elements in there as well! Wink

i gotta say .......

this is the first member we've proposed comming into the band that i have no idea how its gonna effect our sound. bill definately has a sound with double planet, but i dont know how much it was his objective or other band members at the time. i dont know if he wants to continue with this, or incorporate it with our sound. i dont know what he is interpreting our music as or what he's planning on doing with it ... but i wrote all the music out in shorthand and e mailed it with the mp3's and he's been working with it for a week now. he even called me a few times and asked questions ... then went "oh!" when the light went on.

it may require some extreme effort ... but i'm gonna do my best to make it work. we'll see what happens next sunday.

bill showd up and did his audition today. i feel bad because he spent time this week with our music and then had a double planet gig last night ... making everything of ours purge from his head.

i have never worked with someone that can watch what we are doing and be able to play it, and then write his own improv parts that fast. i mean ... some of it was just plain wrong ... but a lot of it was very impressive. we got thru 3 songs in about 3 hours. then he gave us some stuff to work on.

and we all just had a real blast at practice today ... its been a while.

my old drummer and good buddy frank showed up (he's the one who sent bill our direction) and said 40ws sounds a lot fuller and complete now.

franks band .......

pretty cool.

anyhow.

we like bill a lot and we are all gonna put in more work now (he has a studio in is house) to get him up to speed and working on vocal parts a.s.a.p.

as soon as we get some recordings i'll letchya all know.
