Project idea: a bass sustainer

While chatting with KS...I mean, Kugel...I mean, Kugelspot, it occurred to me that I have been kicking around another idea that hasn't ever been fully explored. You guys have probably all heard of the Sustaniac guitar sustainer, you know, the one that uses an active transducer-thingy mounted in a pickup spot to generate an effect like sustain and feedback? Well, the guys at Sustaniac gave me that "...uh...sure...it could work, but why would you want to do such a thing on a bass?"I would love to either use theirs, OR, have one designed and made specifically for bass.

So if I don't manage to cook one up myself, I would welcome any of your attempts at one.

I thought about doing this a while ago. Sustainiac either makes a Bass Sustainer or their guitar sustainers would work fine on bass (I forget which). If you wanted to make your own, I remember seeing some plans on one forum or another that look reasonable. I'm pretty sure the site had some connection to John Petrucci, either his official site or a fan site or something

Uhh, who did you talk to at Sustaniac? Ask for someone higher up anyway, as the do have a bass model, says so right on their site, order one, and mention on the form that its going into a bass, and they'll make the necessary adjustments.

I know of at least one TB'er who has one, and another getting one.

I can't remember who it was as this was a while ago, but it sounded like just a regular sales person. And I looked on their site a few days ago, but I couldn't find where they advertise a bass unit. Can you post the link Bill?

You just order the Stealth Pro, and mention on the form its for bass.
