Hey EH, something I was thinking about. I know you get compared to Billy Sheehan a lot, who is sometimes called "the Eddie Van Halen of bass." Has anyone ever called you Eric Van Haven? Cause it would kinda make sense, and your first names are kinda similar and your last names are only 1 letter away from each other.

Truth be told, yes. Many times, in fact. But the nickname started way back in junior high school when I was still just a guitar player (and not a very good one at that). Since I was a major Van Halen fan, there were a few friends at school who would go "hey Van Haven!"

And again, no lie. I was never called that after I became a bass player, but there were quite a few people who would tell me "you're like the Eddie Van Halen of bass". But by then, the nickname had fallen by the wayside, and instead I became known as "that Billy Sheehan guy". Sad, but true.

Can I call you Van Haven from now on? Or just Van for short?

I know a dude named Danny...we were trying to get him to change his name to Dan Halen, but he wouldn't do it.

Besides, I'm the king of using different names. That's why I call you KS, Mike is sometimes just Amim, Martin and Bill are...well...Martin and Bill. But I will confess that this has more to do with not always wanting to remember how to spell everyone's handles around here!
