Yup, that big 7 feet tall bass that goes Bom bom bom.

More seriously, after 2 month taking electric bass and Upright bass(read contrabass), I am gassing for an upright.

I didn't liked playing Upright when I was just playing scales, but when I started to walk and play exercises (pieces). It started to grow on me.

Now I deeply want an EUB. Even if I do know that it don't sound as ''DA REEL THING''. I don't care.

Anyway, I am just gassing hard for an NS NXT double bass. ...

I cant get a good drop from my kahler. The most i can get is about 2 and a half steps down and i use 45s. How can i get a bigger drop? I remember you guys talking about how you can get it over an octave down. Do i take the bridge off and do something or is it just my bass?

I'm frustrated almost to tears over this. Can anyone offer any advice?

My used DOD G7 has a really horrendous hum, and I know that it shouldn't be there from having owned a couple before. It is present no matter what patches or modes or used. In clean settings, it's still in the background, and with the compressor and distortion settings up, it's really annoying. Even with the noise gate at full, it still cuts through. The hum resonates around a "B" note, and is so bad that when ...

For you, Buddy! Brian Patrick Carroll, otherwise known to the world as Buckethead:

I dug these up off the web, and many folks viewing them weren't totally convinced that these are of the man himself. But I can assure you that this is the same guy that I was introduced to in Berkeley CA right after his gig. When I saw him, he performed with Maximum Bob, who was the singer for the band Deli Creeps that Buckethead played with before going solo. The gig was really avant-garde, ...

Check these guys out. The bassist from Helloween started a side project. It's a metal band with 3 bassists, vocals and drums. No guitar

Surprisingly un-gimmicky

I had this sort of idea a while ago, but never went through with it. Still, I'm glad someone did, and pulled it off so well

I have a great love for classic instruments of all types, and one particular area of interest is anything pertaining to the Renaissance period. I have a dulcimer that has such sounds, but it's limited in that it is fretted in a major scale, so you can't play in certain modes. I have always wanted to have a mandolin to play with, since (besides bluegrass) they make me think of Irish/Celtic music.

I see them on eBay for around $40, and I am literally inches from pulling the trigger on one.

http://bassfuzz.com should be doing a review of one soon (theres one in the background of some of the newer reviews), and I think I'll withhold judgement until then. The pedal seems amazing, but thats a first party video, so they're trying to make it seem as good as possible. I'm pretty sure it will be worth it, but I'll wait for someone else to take the plunge first. It sounds like its been on the market for less than 2 weeks.

Its actually going better than expected. I need to learn the solo, and the main riff needs a bit of work, but other than that I've got it down. I could even record myself playing along to the original, if you want.

Its 2 in the morning and I can't sleep. Thursday night I watched Invasion of the Body Snatchers (the 70's version, though I've seen the original). Anyone else seen it? Remember the scene with the dog with the human face? I don't know why, but its the scariest part of the whole movie, and its keeping me awake. whats werid si I had no trouble falling asleep yesterday, but now it seems like everytime i close my eyes I see that creepy *** dog staring at me.

It has been quite an interesting weather day around here in the wilds of north-western Washington State. Linda and I took her father up to Mt. Baker for a drive, and we ended up at Artist Point which is 5040 feet above sea level, but only about an hour from where we are located. There is a lot of snow up there, which is trippy to me, since we have been having temperatures in Bellingham hovering at near 80 degrees. While we were there, we began to hear a lot of thunder, and had a few sprinkles, ...

I was playing my Ibanez Destroyer this evening. I haven't played it for quite a while due to how happy I've been with my Hamer, but I gave it a spin just for shits. The neck is just as wonderful as I remembered it, as was the string tension, but what really struck me was how awesome the pickup sounded. It's just Ibanez's ripoff of a DiMarzio Model P with the stock volume/tone pots, but it sounded excellent--much better than I remembered it.

Since the pickup is for our intents and purposes ...
