OK, so I think I'm going to actaully get going with the pickup making thing. I want to see if I can get enough interest in them, to see whether it would even be worth it. Anyone interested? I can make them in pretty much any shape or size at this point because I'll be making them on a by order basis, so if you want I think I could do pretty much any shape.

Also, this first batch will basically be prototypes, so I'd like honest feedback. Seriously, if you think they suck, PLEASE tell ...

Recorded during the Love Gun tour, which places it right around the same time that Alive II (which isn't really a "live" album anyways. Ask me about it if you're curious) came out. The energy of the band is really obvious, and they sound extremely tight and solid. The recording is from the soundboard in mono, and the source tape had some odd equalizing, so it could really stand to be further cleaned up with an equalizer. But the recording is really clear, and everything comes out really ...

Recorded during one of the first tours by the band, made obvious by the rather lackluster introduction given to them by some guy saying "All right, we're all set. Please welcome warmly a most unusual band, KISS!" I have no idea where in Detroit this was done. Recorded in mono from the soundboard with pretty decent quality, even with the mixing wavering a bit throughout the show.

This is a really clear recording.

I am really proud of this one. Recorded during the very first reunion of all four original KISS members on 07/21/96 at the Pittsburgh PA Civic Arena. This is a band reference recording, meaning that the band takes these recordings to go back and listen to what they did well, and what they need to brush up on. This was recorded from the soundboard in mono, and since it was only intended as a reference point, the mix isn't entirely perfect at the start, as the drums are slightly buried. But the ...

One of most prized possessions. This was during a tour with Dream Theatre opening, ELP in the middle, and Deep Purple headlining, and was done the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco. This was recorded from the floor using a stereo digital recorder, and is extremely clear.

I was lucky enough to actually be at this show, and you can even hear me yell out during the ending part of Lucky Man as Keith Emerson treated all of us to an intense low note from his synth.

Considered by many Van Halen fans to be the Holy Grail of live shows, this is Van Halen performing their final small arena performance just prior to the release of Van Halen I when they also began touring on the road as the opener for Black Sabbath. This is a premium mono soundboard recording, and there simply isn't a clearer recording of them live from this era anywhere else. Other than some little scuffs from the original source tape, this recording is crystal-clear.

No, that's not a typo. Van Halen very young, very raw, and very hungry for fame.

The first half is Van Halen during a lunchtime performance at their old place of learning Pasadena High School on 06/12/76. The quality is borderline, but everything can be clearly heard as this was taken from the soundboard. An equalizer will go a long way to improve the sound, but it is extremely listenable.

Yet another gem in my collection. This was recorded sometime in 1977 in London, England, and it almost sounds like this was done in a small outdoor arena from what I can tell from the audience. I am not sure if it was recorded off the soundboard, but I do detect some stereo imaging. The quality is pretty decent, but an equalizer would really help clean it up. Uli does some mind-blowing playing during this performance.

This is from a tape I acquired several years ago, and for fans of the Uli Roth days of the Scorpions, it is an amazing snapshot. This was done in West Germany at an un-named venue, but it sounds like it was performed in a place that was at least civic center size. Klaus sings in English, but speaks to the audience in German. The recording was originally taken from the soundboard, and is in stereo.

The quality is decent given it's age, but if you have an equalizer, it can be cleaned up pretty ...
